Is your in car and app charging % both set to 100%? You mentioned 80% in your prior post. Charging to 80% isn't desirable for most.
This question may show my charging level naivety: Could you explain why 80% isn't desirable for most. Is this not best for battery health or another HVB maintenance feature? I know Ford recommends 90% but I'm wondering if 80% regular charging creates a negative battery impact.
Thanks.

Sorry, you're correct for standard lithium ion. I have the LFP, 100% is actually preferable.

All good. Appreciate the info. I'm not familiar with battery chemistry charging and performance differences. (y) I should educate myself.

After 10 days of using the "bandaid" solution, the FCSP has been trouble free and working properly. I've never gone this long without a problem. Literally just plugging in and then pressing the latch release on the handle. A weird workaround for a weird problem but it's so easy I've been doing it out of habit now.

From Brian - Ford Motor Company
See attached (and below picture) – Ford engineering team is aware of the issue and is testing the solution now. It will require an OTA to charger – so make sure you charger is connected. From the previous timeline I was provided, it shouldn't be far away.
I took screenshots from the charge pro app but wonder how we'll know the pertinent update is applied, there's no firmware or update date listed only the firmware version number.

Fair enough. I see reference from March 2025 that 5.0.25 was the most recent then, and that's the one currently installed so I guess when that version number finally changes I know to test.

[thanks for following up on the charge button trick working, I'm willing to try it but don't need to charge off hours often enough I can't just wait to test the official fix when/if it finally arrives]

I went back to a new thread started about this topic but it was closed so I couldn't share an update on it. Brian, that posts under "Ford Motor Company" shared the following info regarding this issue:

From Brian - Ford Motor Company
See attached (and below picture) – Ford engineering team is aware of the issue and is testing the solution now. It will require an OTA to charger – so make sure you charger is connected. From the previous timeline I was provided, it shouldn't be far away.

Below is what I do every time I plug in to avoid this situation in the meantime – I hit that button twice every time I plug in and I have not faulted out in several months. It will usually fault out in less than 5 min, if it does.

In a rare instance of ignoring my apathetic tendencies, I decided to set a preferred charge time and tried this band-aid out. It worked! So now, when I get home after work, I plug in, wait a moment for the FCSP to start pulsing, I press the button on the handle and release after the FCSP clicks. Then I just leave it connected and walk away. It worked. Once. I'll report back if fails. Hopefully Brian heard correctly and Ford releases an update to the FCSP soon.
We're now only a week away from 2026 and I haven't noticed an OTA update on the FCSP. Has anyone else?

No, I have not seen an update to the FCSP. Thinking about selling it and going with the Emporia. Ridiculous that Ford has not gotten this fixed yet.

I'll be honest... I waited this long to reply because I basically forgot about it. The workaround is such a habit and works so well that I haven't worried about charging since I started doing it. It would still be nice if the EVSE worked as designed though!

*edited for grammatical f&%$ery*

I tried your work around and it does not work for us. So we still need the fix.
