The story I read said “20 to 30 cents per gallon.” 🤷‍♂️

I dunno, doesn’t really change anything for me even with only 1 EV and 4 ICE and 2 boats in the household.

I don’t think it’s enough to change behavior. Gas is one of the few things that hasn’t really gone up with inflation in recent years.

Bro. I already broke even on the premium I paid for the MME in gas and maintenance savings after about 3.5 years (depends on what exactly you determine that premium to be since there isn’t a direct ICE equivalent). But I like low gas prices for everyone else.

Also, to the board at large, everything’s gonna be fine. Let’s please not start another political thread.

Gas prices literally just dropped below $5 per gallon in Waimea (Kamuela according to the Post Office) about 3 months ago. So a war spike would put them back up to where ttey were during the first year of the second term. 🤷

The price out here varies depending upon the plan you're under. Some were forced to convert to a TOU plan a year or so ago. Those are no longer available. Under the TOU plan off peak pricing is 22¢ per kWh before fees and taxes. Off peak is 9 am through 5 pm. 5 pm through 9 pm is 51¢ per kWh and 9 pm till 9 am is 44¢ per kWh. Non TOU rates are around 36¢ per kWh iirc. All before fees and taxes.

The average billing in the county for residential service is $190 per month. Those with decent sized homes can expect to pay more than double that. If you're on the coast where air conditioning is a near necessity 24/7/365, it’s triple for a small home (1200 sq ft). The east side, particularly Hilo, drives the average way down as its consistently cooler there.

We just picked up a '25 Select. We have solar and sized it to accommodate fully charging an EV 1-2 times per month. We're finishing up our first full year of net metering and will have ~1.2MW of banked credit left over when the credits zero out at the end of March, so that covers 15-17 full charges of the MME over the course of a year. We'll effectively be driving it for zero incremental energy costs, so yeah feeling pretty good about that right now.

I love me my EV's having had 3 EVs and 2 PHEV's now.

However, gas prices never bothered me that much: Purchased a motorhome the summer gas went to $5/gal locally...

When gas is around $3/gallon it was a wash with my Escape PHEV--costs the same gas or electric (I usually drive it on electric 90% of the time).

Now I get 10mpg going across country towing the Escape.

A friend yesterday brought up gas prices in convo, he has 2 trucks, I smiled and said "remember, we only have 2 EVs, I dont even know the price of gas" I did tell him if the trucks get too pricy to drive he can borrow one of my EVs :)

Gas just shot from $2.79 to $3.49 around here. Went up the first 30 cents the day after the State of the Union (for some reason) and then another 40 senseless for the war.
