The principle of repairability interesting.

Not a comfortable watch, though, for somebody EV trained with no safety equipment in use😱⚡⚰

Bad example for anybody thinking about working on HV components.

Be warned people ⚠

It’s been known right from the start our batteries are repairable by substituting module pairs.

What is especially interesting is just how clean the innards of the battery pack is when opened up, I was invited to see mine at HVBJB recall time at c80,000 miles, the sealing of the cover and unit is extremely effective.

Unlike the Toyota batteries I opened up which, because of air cooling, were dirty and affected by moisture with evidence of oxidation at terminals etc.

Good, these EVs👌

I'm pretty sure this is what people will point to when they say "they don't build them like they used to". There's a sliding scale between repairability and cost of building, between access to modules and squeezing out every last gram/litre in the packaging.

“They” who we always thought built things well before never built anything or even dreamt about building anything like this much before now, though 😂

Have to recognise that T***a gave us a lot to be thankful for or we may not yet be where we are now and even the relatively simpler early Toyota systems, apparently crude by comparison, are incredible breakthroughs which have proved themselves and helped in a large way to getting us where we now are.

The mind boggles where we’ll be in just 5 years’ time.

I only really just became fully trained & licensed as an EV technician to working right down in live elements of EV systems before I retired, the difference between that and 1976 level technology of my apprenticeship is like comparing pedal cycles to spaceships!

Completely agree. When I meet someone who wants to understand what's in a Mach-E battery pack, these are the videos I send to them:
