I've been looking at 2025/2026 Mach E's and I notice that there's no little IR camera thing on the top of the steering wheel on some cars. Does that mean it doesn't have blue cruise? Or did they move it? Just curious.

Yeah, the easy way if you are at the car is to look for the eyeball camera mounted on top of the steering colu,m/ Note that the presence of the camera does not signify that the car comes with a subscription to BlueCruise Hands-Free. It just means that the hardware is there so the car is capable of getting the subsciption. 😁🐩

If you are looking at window stickers online, look for the "Technology Package." On the Premium and Select models that is an option. It includes (among other things) the 360 cameras (including the eyeball camera), power liftgate, wireless charging pad, etc. It is standard on the GT and GT with the Rally package. 🤔🐩

My 2025 Premium window sticker does not show Tech Pack but the car has Blue Cruise and the other things. I have Sport Appearance Package. Did that include the Tech Pack? I'm not the original owner.

Ford decontented things for 2026. The Technology Package was included in 2025 and is no longer standard. 🤔🐩

'25 seems to be a sweet spot year for the Premium, I'll need to keep a lookout.

That change from 2025 to 2026 making the Technology Package an option on the 2026 really highlights the way Ford shuffles the deck with options and even language from one model year to another. My 2025 Premium AWD sticker shows nothing about a Technology Package being standard or a no cost option. They do show the Power Liftgate as standard and they show a BlueCruise 90 day trial as a no cost option. The sticker on a 2026 Premium AWD I saw at my dealer lot the other day has the Technology Package listed as an option for $1,495. That includes the Power Liftgage, Driver Facing Camera and BlueCruise Equip: 1 year+90D plan. I did pay $495 to get a 1 year BlueCruise subscription once my 30 day trial was up so apples to apples, the incremental amount for this 2026 Technology option is the difference ( $1495 - $495 = $1,000). That is pretty significant increase But paying $495 a year for Bluecruise is also quite a bit. My 2025 also has a “Frunk - Drainable” listed as standard but this 2026 has it as an option for $495 and just calls it a “Frunk”. Did they remove the drain? Come to think of it, I don’t think my smaller than prior years Frunk even has a drain. Hmm….maybe a TSB to drill a hole?

Everyone does this. It's a way to give the illusion that prices are being held steady or going down on popular models. When comparing apples to apples, the same car is higher priced for the new model year.

Ford was stuck with the same pressures that all the other manufacturers were, raise prices to cover tarrif/inflation/supply pressure; or de-content to keep prices stable. They did a bit of both.
Most of the blame lies outside the control of FoMoCo...

I find it strange that Ford would remove that feature from any car no matter the model because just because one person doesn't sign up for the subscription the next buyer might and if it's not there they can't. Kinda dumb. Ford can you follow Tesla's lead???

My 2025 Premium only came with a 90 day BlueCruise trial (correction to my previous post where I said 30 day) . After purchase I learned that I could have purchased a 7 year package but it had to be done before the sale was completed and the salesman never told me about that possibility. I tried to get Ford to give it to me after the sale but they said no. My only option then to continue was a monthly or yearly annual subscription. I took the annual for $495. I do however think it’s a great feature and makes our frequent drives between where we live in NYS to NJ much easier. I agree they should leave the capability in all the Mach E’s even if the original owner chooses not to subscribe.
