I also can not find Tesla Superchargers in the connected Navigation? I have been paying for Connected Navigation for the past couple of years I just completed a 800 mile trip where large stretches are only covered by Superchargers. I tried searching by name, station name, and even address. The connected Navigation acts like they don't exist, it sees the address but doesn't understand what is at the address.

I struggled with this as well, the trick (as pointed out by @matwlev) is to use the "search near" button to the right of the search bar. Searching for "Tesla" after using that worked for me. Looks like we don't get the realtime charger availability we'd normally get though, I assume that will come when/if the real integration is in place.

Interesting. Tell me what Supercharger you were searching for and I'll try to find it in my 2022 connected navigation by searching the word "Supercharger" and "Tesla" near that town/city. Although it will be a couple of weeks before I can since I'm not at home right now.

Im also willing to test this like @music_cities. I have used his hack amd it’s worked for me in the past. I wonder if something changed?

It strikes me that perhaps you are searching for a charger. You need to search for a POI instead. Search by name. Then, when you put the Tesla Supercharger POI in as a destination, the little charger ikon shows up on the IPD, and the car will precondition as you approach if the weather is cold(ish). But, the route planning algorithm will not recognize it as a charging stop!

They didn’t. I’m fairly certain they believed full Supercharger integration to their maps was going to occur long ago. I also have no idea why the delay is so long. In any event, I think the POI search tactic is simply taking advantage of a software quirk and entirely unintentional. Let’s hope there’s not an entirely separate team in charge of eliminating software quirks.

This discovery is the best of a hacky solution. It’s like finding a hidden passageway that the builders forgot to board up.

The destination search, especially by voice, is confounding,
If I say 'navigate to Kroger,' it plays dumb.
But it works fine if I say 'Find a Kroger nearby.'

Sync and Android Auto act pretty much the same way, so probably not Ford...

My ’2 cents’…

I find traveling with a ‘destination’ inserted, the Apple Maps identifies ‘charger’ stop needed’, but does not allow me to ‘self-select’ to bypass, or specify which Supercharger I would use instead of the ‘auto-selected‘ supercharger displayed.

This, to me, is a ‘failed’ process.

I should be able to see ‘options’ available for Superchargers, when the mapped destination offers the charger requirement for the trip.

Once I select my ‘preferred’ supercharger option(I.e., Tesla SC vs. Pilot SC), only then will the mapped ‘trip’ offer up the final view.

In connected navigation, I can just add the charging stops I want on my route.

Sounds like a complaint for Apple... Can you do it from your phone (away from the car)

Apple issue. Talk to them. Ford gave both Apple and Android the ability to do the exact same thing years ago. One has simply decided you either don’t need or don’t want certain features.

You can edit charge stops in Apple Maps on the phone before starting navigation, but not on the CarPlay interface.

Ideally on a trip you would pay for a charging subscription for lower rates (eg Tesla or EA) so just select that one as your only preferred network before starting. It doesn’t make financial sense to be hopping between different networks for each charge stop.

The EV routing in Apple Maps does have a lot of room to improve for sure. It’s only available on a handful of EVs so there may not be a lot of development resources dedicated to that part of the app. There really should be a universal standard for that…
