Dealer expects new inventory "late April" - realistic?

I'm looking to buy a new mach E but I didn't pre-order via Ford. Instead I was hoping hoping pick up a dealer ordered model that was already in stock.

I haven't had much luck finding something physically in stock today that fit my criteria, but I'm about to pull the trigger on something that should be arriving mid/late April (per the dealer).

I've read a lot on this forum about delays everywhere on user ordered vehicles. Does this also apply to dealer ordered vehicles? Am I in for a rude awakening when late April will come? Should I keep looking for something that's physically in stock today? Thanks

It depends. If the dealer was able to put in an order months ago or knows of incoming customer orders that the customers don't want, it's possible. Ask them for the VIN of the incoming vehicles so you can check for yourself. If they don't have VINs yet, there's no way they'll arrive any time soon.

The first three on order through my dealer were all cancelled. I got the first one. Second one went quickly. The next one a few weeks away. They are blue, white and red.,in that order. Sounds like an American story.

The tracker doesn't work anymore and now the new tracker that's is available on other sites requires you to have an order number as well as the VIN

They added some code to automatically grab the order number from the window sticker behind the scenes. It’s working for me again.

Where on the window sticker is the order #? I have a copy of it but not sure where the order is

It should work again but there's a few second delay while it gets the order number. Then it will say it couldn't retrieve the VIN even though it worked. I also had to click on the general tab to see anything.

My order number has a letter as the first character and it has to be caps so i think the script is not getting the string properly

This link worked for me. It says in production, ETA May 1st. Guess I'm back to the original question whether this is a believable date or not

its believeable yes but be careful the car is not promised to somebody already. Is there a name associated to the car in the information? Also be careful that he's not adding a crazy 5-10k markup on the car. Before you get your hopes up I'd go through the financial details with the guy first.
