So...if each "pouch is rated at 3.7v how amps(kw) are each pouch. I see that putting these in series gives the rated voltage...so stacking each pouch in series adds its amperage(kw) on top of the previous one? That is my lack of understanding. In parallel you add the amps(kw) to together to get total power. Do you also add the power when in series?
Watts is volts times amps regardless if it is a series or parallel circuit.

I know voltage adds in serial. But beyond that I'm not sure. I'm no expert on that.

I guess that means amperage adds in parallel? I'm a little fuzzy on whether it's the amperage (at the same voltage) that decreases as kWh gets used up?

In any case, the 3 96-cell blocks in the SR battery add up to 75.7 kWh (355v), while the 4 94-cell blocks add up to 98.8 kWh (348V).

Let me re-phrase this and put in perspective. If I stack five of these batteries in series I would get 120 volts nominal...How many amps? Someone is offering to give me the batteries that are a year old. I would have to buy a small solar panel and and inverter to build myself a small home power backup that could run a fridge or freezer for a few days. Maybe could also use it to charge the car some if the inverter could handle the load? I know it could not charge it completely. Trying to decide if worth messing with.

As mentioned total power (Watts) is always the same, so only one of the quantities (amps or volts) is cumulative. Taking an example of four 12 volt 100 amp batteries, each of which outputs 1200 watts for a total of 4800 watts when combined:

In parallel, the current (amps) is cumulative and the volts is the same: 12V x 400A = 4800W

In series, the voltage accumulates and the current does not (it's actually the lowest current if the batteries are different): 48V x 100A = 4800W

Note that if the batteries have different voltages you will have problems wiring them in series. If you've ever put a fresh battery and partially drained battery in a flashlight you'll know that the batteries leak.

Your explanation finally sunk into my thick head....Thanks!!!

Well, my concern about the accuracy of my math in an earlier post was definitely not warranted

From today's news.

Ford, freed from a trade dispute involving two of its battery suppliers, will build the F-150 Lightning's packs at a new plant now under construction in Georgia.
Late last week, the automaker said it will partner with SK Innovation, a Korean supplier that also makes batteries for Volkswagen and Kia, to assemble 60 gigawatts' worth of batteries each year in Commerce, Georgia. That adds up to roughly 400,000 of the Lightning's longest-range packs—a massive undertaking that, in sheer volume, represents nearly half of all F-series sales—and by 2030, Ford wants to quadruple that output from all of its battery plants worldwide. The joint venture is to be called BlueOvalSK, Ford said.
Ford may need them, as of today they reported 70,000 Lightning reservations.

Impressive, although at only $100 many will just be placeholders that don't ultimately buy.

Good marketing though, as such a low deposit helps inflate the numbers and makes it look even more successful.

True... but the conversion rate is high.

Well, here is why you should beware of on-line stock predictions. This is what I posted on Dec. 28, as to where Ford stock will end up in 2021.

My WAG? $11, +/-, roughly 20-25%. :) Hope I'm too conservative.
Today it is at $14.80.

But I did hope that I was too conservative, LOL. I was.

Now, where is it going to go to when the chip shortage is over?
