So, I saw this video today, and I’m extremely interested in the concept. I kinda wish it was available across more areas. And I kinda wonder if there’s a real market for something like this.

Definitely a cool concept. I can see it catching on with people that don't have solid level 2 charging at home/work.

I've yet to hear of a gas-up-on-the-go. We come to you and put gas in your car so you don't have to.....

Nope. Put one on tow trucks for extreme calls. That's about it.

They aren't EV customers yet and won't spring for the add'l cost to have someone come and charge their car.

Anyone know how much charge they can provide at the side of the road in a busy city? 20kwh? 30?

I downloaded the app, and attempted to register so I could see what the pricing is like. Because I don’t live in a served area, it wouldn’t let me register, which seems like a failure in a world where people do drive to visit people or places.

The cost is an obvious question. Seems like you can't register if you aren't in a service area, so we don't know what the true cost is. The video mentions $25, but doesn't say exactly what you get for that. They repeatedly claim that it costs the same or less than public charging stations.

I don’t know. I could see uses… drive to the airport and fly out for a week? Come back to a car that has just been fully charged that morning. Kids playing in a state athletic tournament? Get the car charged while watching Trevor take a third strike for the fourth time. Have a business meeting 200 miles away? Have the car charged while you’re closing the deal.
Remember, this is level 3 charging, so it’s not going to take several hours. Hell, if you’re planning a road trip, and want to veer from the main path of chargers to eat at a restaurant that doesn’t have a charger nearby…

AAA and many other roadside service providers will bring you gas if you run out. ;)

I went to try a zip code in an area they service, and found out that they did allow me to create an account. I then went to add a vehicle to my account, the Mach-E, which they use in their video, isn’t listed as an option to add. These people are making me have all the sad.

I could be wrong, but I believe that $25 is a subscription fee. I believe they are going to charge per kWh above and beyond that.

My employer has a contract with a company that fills gas tanks in the parking lot while we're inside working. Price is competitive with the local stations.

These are good use examples that could make this viable where mobile gas really hasn't been. However, I don't know how many people would use this regularly to pay a subscription on as you mention in another post. Though this does seem like the sort of thing that would be a good ancillary service at the airport parking lot and the like.

There was a guy that started yer another “The Model Y is better for me because I have to drive 400 miles to LA a couple times a month” threads. This might be worth it for him to pay that fee on the regular. ?‍♂
