For the button question a real button to open the Trunk would have been better than going to Car>Access>Open Trunk. Especially since sometimes I close the car before I open the trunk
While the physical button found on other Ford SUVs would be good, I would also be fine with just having that be one of the "always available" commands in the lower section of the center screen.

One thing I don't see mentioned about PaaK, or Ford Pass in general, is the privacy issue. I have as few apps on my phone as possible, and have location services disabled for everything when possible. I'm sure I am an outlier compared to some, but out of general principle have an intense dislike of anything that can track people.

I'm perfectly fine with, in fact prefer, a fob. PaaK for me is a solution in search of a problem.

And, to open the rear lift gate door by swinging your foot underneath the bumper...the sensor is close to the license plate. And, it works better by using a "kicking" motion instead of a "sweeping" motion....so they say. I haven't tried it yet.
I've received the same advice and it does work much better to kick than to sweep.

I agree that Ford should have popped for 2 FOB, but ended up getting a 2nd FOB just in case.

Somewhat of topic, but Ford should have made it easier to jump the 12V battery. The current Byzantine procedure sucks mittens.
I don't understand why they didn't provide an access door for the 12v battery. It would be SO easy to do and not worry about breaking clips having to remove TWO panels for a jump. If I was handy enought I would cut a whole myself so I don't have to go through that again! I would like a 2nd FOB in case something happens to the one I have. I am not confident using my phone as a key.

What I'd like too is instead of these silly sliders for all the control how about we tap fan and then use the knob to turn it up or down or tap where the air is blowing then turn knob and have a pop up show where you're switching it too etc and have it time out after 5 seconds or so of no response and revert back to volume. Basically ford gave us a knob because it's convenient I'd like to use that for everything. Heated seat? Tap and turn. It should be that simple not take my eyes off the road and gently slide to the position i want or go to another menu to select my feet instead of winshield for air.
Totally agree with this. The little sliders for the climate and heated seats are a PITA and very distracting while driving. 3 or 4 times in succession, I tried to adjust the level of the heated seat and accidentally turned on the A/C - it was really irritating.

My items....Fix PAAK, Ability to create buttons for most used tasks, ie open real lift ( hate having to hit multiple menu's), change fan control to just hit icon to rotate through speeds, same with seat heat, click button go go from off to 1 to 3 to off to .... fix reliability with Android Auto, works 70% of the time for me, plug in does not work at all, add ability to remote open frunk, Ohh someone said something about way to jump the car, open the port and it just jumps the car vs all this opening frunk removing panel. etc...

I'd go with fix PaaK or just give up. Say it wasn't ready for production and send us all second FOB. Done, happier customers, move on. I can' t imagine how painful it must be for people who don't read this forum to think that their $50k+ car was too cheap to come with two keys and instead a system that fails over 50% of the time.

I think “Access” should be a card that you can have hanging out below the main screen. It would be much more useful than tire pressure.

Do you mean a button on the outside of the car for the trunk? Because there is one just above the license plate. Otherwise, when you turn off the car, the touchscreen goes to the page with the soft-button to open it as well.
I meant the soft button. Sometimes I don't even close the car and I find myself looking for a physical button in the car and then I remember I have to go to the access section. As @ChasingCoral mentioned, having it stickied on the home screen would work as well.

Based on everyone's experience with PaaK, I plan on just using the fob. Hopefully Ford will smarten up and start including two with every Mach-e. I have no problem keeping another fob in my purse and the tech works consistently.

Science would disagree. Gravity is also successful. Same with any other law of physics.
Actually, If you really want to get pedantic about it, I can think of two examples off the top of my head where no scientist can assert that with certainty: the singularity within a black hole, and the point at the origin of the Universe (cosmologists, philosophers, theologians, and barflies have spirited debates as to whether the phrase “before the Big Bang” even has meaning ?)

I ordered a second one. i can't be dealing with a hysterical wife that cant get into the car cause of her phone, and I can't be wasting time on the road trying to troubleshoot the issue

Yup, so much easier than having a fob in your pocket with the key to my house.
You have a key to your house? How quaint! Do you also have those phones with those old-timey spinning thingys to put in the numbers? ?

While dashboard buttons might be good I think they have GREAT CHANCE to make so much MORE use of the 'Volume' dial.

This has been brought up by me, others in various threads.

If they just made the Volume dial interactive, it would obviate the need for many dash buttons.

Oft cited examples:
> When radio is active, volume dial is, um, a volume dial.
> When you press the fan control icon, the 'volume' dial becomes a fan control dial.
> When you press the temperature control icon, 'volume' dial adjusts the temperature.

Etc. etc.

I think it would be brilliant use of the Dial Control.
I like the idea of a context-sensitive volume knob,, as long as there’s some clear indicator of the context. I shouldn’t discover the context by turning it, expecting to increase the seat cooling temperature, only to blast Spinal Tap at 11 out of the sound system ?
