Also, this was passed on to the dealers:

For Mustang Mach-E GT Reservation customers: Some customers may believe that they can ensure an earlier build date by placing a new retail order and cancelling their reservation. This is not true. New retail GT orders will likely be scheduled into the ‘22MY. The best way for customers to get their vehicle as soon as possible is to follow the intended reservation-to-order process

This tells me that reservations should be ahead of new orders. Especially since the reservation number is tied to your actual order.
Just a data point for anyone interested. When I first tried to convert my GT reservation over to an order (on 4/27), there was an issue with the site and the order was placed, but not connected to the reservation. Because of this, the recommendation was to create a 2nd order from the reservation, which converted fine the 2nd time. The "reservation-less" order was "1078xxxx", the "reservation order" was "1076xxxx". Both exactly the same car (color, options, etc).

Both orders are still tied to my name on ford.com (so I can see status of both), but the dealer refunded the "reservation-less" $500 deposit.

The order tied to the reservation, got a build date of "Week of 8/29/2021" scheduled a couple weeks ago. The "reservation-less" order, just received a build date of "Week of 9/19/2021" last week.

So for what it's worth, 2 orders, same day, 1 with reservation, 1 without ended up with build dates about 3 weeks apart and the reservation one definitely had priority.

This would have made more sense. if you reserved you get these 2 days to order and nobody else did. Reserving a spot in line in there sense was we "guarantee" you can order. However users choosing to order way later after orders opened up shouldn't have expected their spot to be saved. There is no guarantee anyone with a reservation even orders, so why would they leave a blank spot with no car all the way up to production time.
Your forgetting a couple of things. First we had to put $500 deposit. I put my reservation in Nov 2019. Second reservation holders didn't get access to early ordering. The purpose of the reservation system with a deposit was that our space in the Que would be saved.

Even if Ford didn’t outright state that we were reserving a spot in line, the language on the web site when I placed my reservation and the language in their communications afterward certainly implied such.

I ordered on my GTPE may 4th..still no build date! I'm starting to get angry! I know of a few people now who ordered after me with no reservation and have build dates.

I have a prod date for 8/15 week for my GT.

It is also important to highlight here, make any changes NOW before you get that prod date email. You will most likely be NOT ABLE TO make any changes once scheduled.

You have to call the dealer to make changes.
My guy at the Ford dealership is awesome, making changes over text messages. Its typically the Customer svc Director or whoever handles reservations/ordering.

I had dropped GTPE back in may (now i wish i had not). I like the GTPE wheels much better and learned now that the magna ride is only on the GTPE.
Also had added glass roof + blue cruise (hope they are worth it)

I'm not on the forums much, but will be now that I have received a production date over the weekend. GTPE scheduled for production the week of 9/26/2021. For those interested, I reserved mid-January and my order date is 5/20/2021.

The GTs must be stacking up pretty deep outside the plant in Cuautitlan. Any word on when Ford is giving the GT the "OK to buy"? Almost 4 weeks of production and apparently nothing has shipped yet.

No email, but I looked at my order of 4/3 for a PE (no reservation) and have a production date for the week of 9/12. Hopefully is will be produced on a Taco Tuesday with all the production guys and gals in a good mood, and well fed.

When did your order go in? Thanks
I ordered on the first day the ordering opened. I scheduled an appointment with my dealer to place the order from his computer at 10:00. I had a reservation that I placed in 2020. The order went in and we could see it on the Ford site but the options including PE were not picked up until the next day when Ford confirmed and excepted the order.

Mine's still in production since the 16th with no ETA. Tells me waiting on chips. Why don't they just code it that way then? I get it. chips, shortage, delay...

I have the same build day of 7/16 and its status is Plant Hold Waiting for Chip. That said, since there appear to be no GTs that have been put on rail cars, it doesn't look like they've received the "OK to Buy" either. Unfortunately we're just stuck in a vacuum of information until we see someone get a Shipped status on a GT.......... Anyone have access to satellite views of Mexico City?

That’s hard to say because, remember, no Mach-E of any kind has shipped since sometime during the week of 6/20.

Unless Ford decides to break their silence on the delay, it looks that way, yep.

I didn't realize that. I stopped by my dealer on Tuesday to get a trade value on my F150 and met someone taking delivery of their Premium so I thought they were still shipping. It must have shipped by the 20th and finally landed.
