This thread reminded me to sign up for early access. I'm officially on the waitlist.
Same. I got the email long time ago, but then life got in the way and I forgot. Early BlueCruise (or should I say that word at risk of getting sued by GM?) is a nice carrot that reminded me to sign up

Oahu has the H-1, the H-2, and the H-3. Those area all interstate highways. None of the other islands have anything other than “surface” streets. Although some of those rival freeways.
Why don’t you just drive over to Oahu and try it out? ?

all joking aside, is there such a thing as a car ferry between any islands in Hawaii or are they all so far apart that flying is the only practical way to get between them? I’ve only ever been to Honolulu, so I’m clueless - sorry ?

Why not just put a clamp on the steering wheel then?? lol
Um, that’s what Tesla drivers do. And look how successful that strategy has been.

Sure, you can take the ferry from Maui to Lanai where you can visit Larry Ellison... Won't help you get to any highways though..

Yes. Young Brothers barges the cars. There’s no traditional ferry service though as the economics weren’t there the last time we were scammed into a ferry system and still aren’t.

Inter island barge runs about $400 each way and can take several weeks. ;)

I'm curious about all this discussion wither or not you want it. This is the way I look at it. I'll will get it because of the technology aspect of it. I won't change my driving habits because of it, I will still drive safely and monitor the system because that's my responsibility as a driver and not to mention the law. If you don't want it, or don't see the need for it by all means please don't buy it and keep driving safely the way you do now. But it's your decision either way, so please don't bad mouth the option just because you don't think its a good thing. Let each of us decide what's good or bad for us!

It's obviously a joke. I'm just curious if that's the only difference. I guess I'll have to wait and see people post about it on YouTube. If its literally the same thing that just allow you to remove your hands "longer" from the steering wheel then I'm going to be quite disappointed. I've been excited for it since they mentioned it.

There are also places where there are sharp turns in the expressway that are too sharp for the copilot 360 systems to deal with. This causes the lane centering to kick off. Because BlueCruise is going to use high resolution scanned Maps, it will (supposedly) be able to deal with these curves. There is also some question as to whether or not the car will slow down for sharp curves.

In addition to more precise lane keeping and hands free, other features have been suggested - such as automatic lane changes simply by hitting the turn signal.

For me more precise lane keeping and hands free on a 4 hour drive are good enough

I'm hoping the lane keep is more precise; I drove for the two two months with land centering on, but finally had to turn if off because it would make very jerky corrections on well marked roads. I had to constantly keep my hands tightly on the wheel to try dampening the jerking, which was more exhausting than just using lane keep alone.

I'm not sure how Ford decides who gets into the early access program.... But fwiw I think they could give it as a perk for those with First Editions (of course this isn't my opinion just because I have a first edition.. it just clearly makes sense!)
