What am I doing wrong such that the PAAK works every time during the 4 months that I've owned the Mach E? I feel left out and anxiety is building up inside me with no place to vent it. Help me please.

Seriously, though, I've had almost no troubles with the PAAK since I've owned the car. What is different for me?

Aside: I'm using PAAK on a Samsung Note 20 Ultra and also use Android Auto exclusively for music, podcasts, maps, etc.

I find it hard to believe that it works every time for anyone. We don’t live in a perfect world!! Lol

Same here, PaaK works. 1 month ownership, 1000 miles. iPhone 11. (I did have the problem when drivers door wouldn’t open unless another door was opened, but that wasn’t directly s PaaK issue.)

Lots of folks are having little to no issue with PaaK. Mine usually works fine, too. My wife has had more trouble but hers is doing better since the updates.

For owners tp be happy, I think PaaK requires:
  • fairly new phone
  • attentive user
  • patient user
  • latest updates help too

PaaK worked fine for me from purchase until the PowerUp 1.6.0 OTA update, then it was broken. I fixed it by resetting everything and it's been working fine ever since. I still have 2 FOBs just in case, you never know.

It seems that earlier vehicles are having more issues, but that may just be a correlation on this forum without any actual causation.

Bottom line as I have posted before, hardware is easy software is hard. Creating software that will work for everyone in every possible circumstance is one of the most difficult things to do, and is what keeps many hundreds of developers and code jockeys employed. :)

PaaK used to work reasonably well. Over the past two weeks, an annoying new behavior as started that I mentioned elsewhere. Walk-up Unlock does not work at the driver’s door any more. It works fine at the passenger door. Pretty annoying since, unlike Siouxsie Sioux, I’m rarely a passenger ?

Most people aren't having significant issues. There is a large percentage though that are having issues and they post here, and at that other forum. Mine has generally worked very well.

Knock on wood. Mine almost never works. When did you get your car? Did you get the 1.6 and 1.4 update as well as the 3.28 app update? if it still works after all of that I suggest you play the lottery you are one lucky person.

Mine works 90% of the time I’d say. It’s a bit unnerving when you get no key deterrents when driving, but I can get over the unlock issues or needing to use the passcode. I wish I could just get to the passcode faster really. If I could, I think I’d just use the door code and passcode and get rid of the Ford pass app.

I’ve had my MME since April and only had the key fob with me on the way home from the dealership. It’s been in my drawer ever since! I have the latest vehicle updates and app update on iOS with an iPhone 12 Max. The only time it doesn’t work for me on approach is when my phone is in my back pocket (obviously), or if I haven’t accessed the Ford app in a while. But as soon as I open the app, the car unlocks.

I imagine the iPhone is prioritizing recently used apps, so the Ford app might get put in a lower, or non prioritized status? I’m only guessing here based on similar behavior with other apps I use, and what I’ve read about how iOS handles apps. Can’t have EVERYTHING running at the same time. Something has to go!

Since I frequently use the Ford app to monitor battery level, tires, etc., maybe that’s why it usually works for me to unlock the car on approach with the phone in my pocket, because the app is still in the foreground. ?‍♂ I’m just guessing here! ?

I see the "almost" in your post. .....

So you have NEVER had any delay opening the door or it finding your phone upon approach? 100% of the time, the buttons illuminated before you got to the car, not even 10 seconds, 5 seconds for them to unlock? Never pressed the door button and the door/hatch did not open/present using PAAK? Not even once?

Nothing with the countrywide fordpass outage a little over a month ago?

That 120 miles on your car, in 4 months, must be enjoyable.

Of course, I am being funny (It's been a rough day at work so far).

Congratulations on your perfect PAAK reliability....LOL and I hope you got a chuckle.

I was in the same boat from my upgrade (Recall) until two weeks ago. It did have a few bumps but I was happy, until it just stopped and messed up requiring a reinstallation last week .

I tried it again yesterday (since the reinstall) and left the fob at home. It worked great, I thought, until I went to the grocery store after work, bags or items in my hands and the doors did not illuminate or open, even after a press, for about 20-30 seconds. Fidgetting with your App, while holding groceries, in a parking lot, with all the eyes on your sweet looking Mach E was not a good feeling. I carried the fob today....

Mine, too. Up until yesterday which I already posted separately. And yesterday was somewhat of an outlier to my routine so particularly inconvenient and annoying, though I never lost patience and never became stranded.

It does, however, have me rethinking the auto-update setting in the car. I bought a year 1 model with open eyes but I may revert to manual checks and monitoring forums for now or at least when I'm going to be away from home for some time/distance, in order to avoid a repeat of yesterday.
