I was 100% sold on the Premium. Then I found out the mustang symbol on the "grill" only lights up on the GT. I honestly don't really care about the 1 second faster GT 0-60 speed and I don't really like the grill on the GT. I personally like the flat look over that vinyl fake grill look. BUT...for a few grand more, you get the power (if you ever want it) and the mustang logo lights up ( I'm a sucker for shiny things). Is there anything else that really sets these two packages apart?

Are you range conscious? If so, Premium Extended Range RWD to get the maximum efficiency.

Personally, while I love the GT and PE styling, and would probably get one if I wasn't so range conscious, I want the most economical vehicle. And paying about $7-15k more for styling doesn't sit well with me.

I say this now... and may upgrade in the future, but the MME will be our only car for a handful of months while we wait for a Rivian or a Lightning, so I wish to maximize efficiency where possible.

I like the GT grille but I prefer the premium wheels!

I do care about range, but I was also going to get the Extended range eAWD. I like the feel of that a bit more and the extra 30 miles isn't a make or break for me.

It's interesting how limited we are to customize these. I plan on doing a black powder coat on the wheels. I'm going dark matter gray and it just pops with that wheel coated like that.

If you don’t like the front end, I honestly can’t see why anyone would spend the price difference on a light up pony. You’ll still not like the front end. The premiums are not slow so it’s not like you’re missing out

This is what my logical brain screams at me lol
My teenage brain still sees the extra power and shiny things.

That's a lot of money for a lit pony.

Go with a premium, save money. I'm sure there will be aftermarket options for a light-up pony on the front end.

GT gets bigger wider wheels too
You can get aftermarket wheels and tires, cheaper, than paying the price difference between the Premium and either GT options - or even by a set from a GT or PE owner from the forum when they become available.

I think you're right. I had my mind made up and the little things made me question it, but I actually want the premium.

I had the option to buy a GT back in September @ MSRP that was a customer cancellation (crazy, right?) but we turned that down because I didn't feel the need to spend an extra $7k on the difference in MSRP (then have to factor sales tax on top of that). Yes, the tax credit would've made it a wash, but because the MSRP is over $60,000, I wouldn't apply for another cash rebate from Delaware for BEV.

I told myself that if I wanted a GT so bad, I may eventually get one in a few years once Ford redesigns a few of the heavier components on the MME. I saw a really great video Munro did comparing Tesla's HVAC rack to Ford's bird nest of a nightmare. When that gets fixed, I'll probably upgrade.

Our MY21 is due in the next week or so, and we also have an order in for a MY22 Grabber Blue premium. Depending on when that shows up, I may switch out, and keep switching out each year to keep a fresh MME for trade-in purposes. The way the used market is going, and may continue to go, It could easily be a chance to swap every year while either making a few $$$ each year or breaking even. That's OK with us :p

It was super easy for me to justify the GT.

Benefits: Much better looking seats (IMO), and for a sportier car I like the Miko inserts..no sliding around. Love the copper accents. Wider wheels and tires make the car look much better. Sits lower, handles better, body colored wheel arches, absolutely love the front end compared to the premium. Power...absolutely incredible. Range is pretty good so far in my testing. On the '21 I was able to get bluecruise without PANO...that was a key factor for me.

All that for 6 grand over Premium...about at 10% increase. GT got better options rate (1.4), x-plan and options 1k cash back helped keep the payment about 140 more than equivalent premium. Residual is anticipated to be higher for the GT as well.
