What do KBB or other trade-in valuation websites say your car is worth?
I'd probably also get offers from some of the online car dealers.
With that mileage, I'd be a little surprised if you had substantially more equity than your buyout (less mileage fees), but find out for sure first.
I'd rule-in or -out the sort of no-brainer cases. Of the car is worth $30k, keep it and take your time with a decision. (I wouldn't bet on value going up later this year but expiration of $7,500 incentive, tariffs, and flooded cars could all drive used car prices up.)
If it's worth $20k, let Ford eat that and factor the $2k warranty cost towards your next vehicle.
The future is too uncertain to know whether we should all rush to get into our next EV before September but some people think so....
