Rectangle appearing on my instrument cluster

I have a blue rectangle appearing on my instrument cluster, occasionally turns orange but goes back to blue. When driving immediately above it the rear of my car starts to appear, only when moving. Anyone had this happen ?

This is the distance indicator for the cruise control. If blue then you have enough space between you and the car in front of you for the Mach e to be happy. The rear of the car you see is indication that there is in fact a car in front of you

Blue box is showing that the space in front of you is fine. It will turn red when you get too close to someone in front of you. The rear car you see on the top is going to be the car in front of you.

Just don't test it turning red too much

I'll try not to, as a matter of interest shouldn't the blue rectangle go off when parked ?

They really need to make the design a bit more intuitive as the blocky rectangle is confusing if you don't know what it's from. A translucent gradient in front of the car would make more sense than a solid block that looks like a wall.

Specifically, this is intended to show you the estimated stopping distance to the car in front of you, and will change to orange or red if you're too close to the car in front of you. It can be toggled off in the settings if you find it's not useful.

Actually, this colored block is a called the RickMachE's Wife Alert Indicator, or RWAI. When it lights up, my wife tells me that I am tailgating... ?

You gave the person a hard time for asking a question without searching other threads, but the link you gave is to an entirely different website. That means you didn't search here, you went to google. We aren't such an active site that we need to get on people for asking a simple question.

Google search or car manual read is simpler.

I agree. we've had the car for a week, and I've been wondering what type of information Ford is trying to impart with that rectangle. I looked through the PDF manual, but it's a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack without some basic information as to what it is. A heading like "Weird Blue Rectangle" in the Table of Contents would have made things easier.

Another thing that I haven't been able to find is if the car has "Dog Mode" like our Model 3. For those unfamiliar with "Dog Mode", it maintains the set temperature in the car — warming or cooling — while doggo is lounging in the car while the humans are shopping. Tesla even displays the interior temperature along with a balloon dog graphic on the screen (I have no idea why it's a balloon dog), so animal lovers won't destroy the windows of your car to "save your poor abused dog”. And no, there are no other animal modes, just “Dog Mode”. Anyway, guidance from the experienced users on this forum would be appreciated. Yesterday, I had to sit in the car for an hour outside Costco, with Miss Ginger, while the AC was running since the outside temperature was a toasty 35°C or 95°F.

Its the drafting indicator, you want it to be red all the time to get maximum efficiency.

Yep! I don't need all this safety stuff, my wife tells me when I'm too close. Also does driving directions.
