Xactly! I really dont understand why some people dont understand that paying a premium for something with 480hp and 634ftlb called GT Performance, that one should expect at least the power delivery other electrics with similar and even lower specs have. Im sure Ford would get away with doing that with the GT350, Mach 1, etc. You could give those the same specs they have now and just chop the acceleration right after the peak hp/tq numbers are achieved. They are ICE but still computer managed. Let the Mach 1 trap 100mph and see how the huge Stang community riots. You may say, well those are sports coups. Ok, try it with a Urus, RSQ8, Ram TRX, Cherokee Trackhawk, Durango Hellcat, etc.

So it's been about a month since my original post, and my opinions haven't changed. Still a great car, no issues (had one magneride suspension error pop up one cold morning a few weeks ago, but never returned after about 20 seconds, and it's been even colder this week).
-I personally still don't care about the "5 second rule", at least not in my driving on both highway and back roads of PA. But then again I didn't buy it as a track or drag car, I bought it as a grand tourer and it's lived up to all my expectations.
-Still get lots of compliments, even from the local coupe Mustang owners.
- Haven't had the random trunk open that some have had, but I padded the garage door just in case.
- Love the 360 camera for pulling into the garage.
-Range has dropped as expected due to the cold weather (20s at night, 40s during the day) but I've been setting departure times and left it on the charger overnight so it really hasn't affected my driving habits
- One small paint chip from a dump truck, but easily fixed with Ford's touchup paint kit and a tiny paint swab.
- Black is not fun to keep clean and spot free, but the coating made a huge difference over the last black car I owned.
- no infotainment issues. Maybe it's bc the GTs came with the latest firmware.
- Summer tires still performing even in the lower temperatures. Once it gets really cold or the sleet/snow hits, she'll be kept in the warm garage full time.
Still a blast to drive, especially now that I've gotten about 1000 miles on it, have learned how it handles and general driving characteristics.
Let the re-bashing begin...

That is really good to hear. It's very hard to figure out how it would affect normal driving from all the information on this 5 second topic. I was worried at first, but I think it's mostly and edge case.

Well written, @shoopla, makes me feel better about my order!
I second his points. I have a Shadow Black GT that I took delivery on 10/31. It is a fabulous machine. And, if I'm being honest, it still scares the sh*t out me when I punch it off a light. Like J in Men in Black when K guns it in the tunnel.

I also have a SB GT. Love it. Had mine since Sep 21. I still punch it from a stop occasionally and continue to be amazed by the torque. A colleague had driven M3 P last weekend so I let him drive the GT. Even though I warned him to be ready when he punched it he backed off right away. He said he liked the MME much better. Said the interior was superior on the MME and the drive ability was more enjoyable.

Picked up my Shadow Black GTPE last Monday, and can honestly say after a week I'm not disappointed about anything, and it was well worth the wait over a non-GT. I used it on my 30mile commute a few times, as well as some longer trips over the weekend.

The pros:
1. The performance in every aspect (acceleration, braking, ride, handling for a car this size, range meeting expectations)
2. Attention and positive comments in any parking lot, even though it's not Cyber Orange. My wife jokingly tells everyone who asks about it that it's $5 for each answer. Many of the most positive comments included "that looks much cooler in real-life than on TV" from pickup truck and "real" Mustang owners.
3. Quality (yeah, it's only been a week, but there aren't parts falling off or any bolts missing unlike some other EVs, no squeaks or rattles, no software issues)
4. Usefulness as an everyday car if needed, at least until the snow arrives. I have a go-anywhere Volvo for when that happens, not worth getting snow tires on the GTPE.
5. Ease & availability of charging (both at home and the number of available charging stations, even in the non-green energy Northeast)
6. Insurance wasn't nearly as painful as expected, at least in this region.
7. The sad faces on D-bags about 3.5s after they tried to race you.

Does it have quirks? Of course., the usual complaints already listed elsewhere:
1. Double pull frunk (I don't plan on opening it that much anyway and better than having it be that way than risk it popping open at 70mph)
2. PAAK has minor connection issues, but I usually always have the fob with me anyway (I don't trust my phone for anything important)

Bluecruise worked as expected (available for about 80% of my commute). I don't need, or want full self-driving. That's something that will never happen, and I buy cars to drive, not to ride. I don't envision even using the BC very often.

Also, I see the complaints about the top-speed/trap limitations. I say if you want a car to actually drag race every weekend, why would you buy an EV Crossover in the first place?
Your review is spot on. I just purchased my GT this weekend and have 0 complaints.

I agree... it would be easy to pick apart the car... but, the truth is... it's a beautiful car, Ford pulled out all the stops on this one... I can't compare it to my 750 M Sport because, it's a different car... The cost of an electric car is 20,000 to 30,000.00 more... due to the batteries alone. The car is stunning... if I had to complain.. it would be the price... 1st car that I've ever paid MSRP... However, my Mach E GTPE is selling for 20,000 over sticker... I don't think it's worth 92,000.00... after all the incentives... I will pay close to 60,000.00 for the car... I don't care who you are... that's a lot of dough. I'm banking on the no maintenance, fuel savings and mostly to offset the mileage on the 7 Series... It's a great car... I'm 6'3" and comfortable driving it... Lastly, if I don't like it after a year... I can walk away ahead a few bucks...even after driving it for a year... I will probably change the wheels back the GT ones... another thing... I don't drive the car in 1-pedal mode...

Ford Mustang Mach-E First week with GTPE, it was not over-hyped 29706149-8d91-48c7-b5f0-782a0ff9dc6f

Just wait until the 5 second rule to kill all your hype. I owned a gtpe and it was a horrible experience. You say why you want to buy an electric suv for drag racing? I answer you why you want to buy a machine of almost 80k that cannot hold the performance for more than 5 seconds or even much less before it overheats horribly and halves the performance? Much better at this point a Mach and Premium that at least holds the performance and does not over promise, then disappointingly disappointing!

IF FORD DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO DO AND EV AND MANAGE THE OVERHEATING SHOULD NOT PUT IN THE MARKET A SUPPOSE PERFORMANCE EV WITH FAKE PERFORMANCE ADVERTISING!
REALLY MISLIDING FOR CUSTOMERS!

ON THE TOP OF THIS THE DEALERSHIP EXESPERIENCE IS HORRIBLE, MY CAR DIED COPLETELY AFTER JUST 2K MILES AND THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO FIX AT ALL, THEY EVEN DIDN'T WANT TO OFFER ME A LOANER TELLING ME THAT IS FAULT OF FORD AND I WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM THREATING ME VERY BAD. THIS AFTER YOU SPENT ALMOST 80K IN THEIR CAR. THE CAR STAYED THERE FOR MORE THAN 2MONTHS UNTIL WHEN FORD PROPOSED ME TO BUYBACK IT..FORTUNATELY!!

But problably this was better because at least I was able to get rid of the car without losing money

Neither you nor the fact you’re typing ALLCAPS will kill any hype of us owners that are absolutely happy with their GTPE.
Why you’re still hanging around in Mach E Forum, with a Profile picture what was “supposed” to be your GTPE?
The more you hate, the more I’m convinced you never owned a GTPE.

@Bodyshopguy Excellent wheel choice  ?
The wheels weren't very expensive...about 1499.00 at AudioCityUSA.... they're here locally and also on eBay... I just thought an electric car should have turbine type wheels... plus, it's already blacked out... the wheel offset is 45mm... 9 x 20 and I bought another set of tires... same as the GT wheels... I have them, in case, I choose to switch back...

Competitive where? For what? Is there some highway passing award I'm not aware of? Seems like most of the complaints are from people who don't actually have a GT/GTPE. The owners seem to be quite pleased with them.
I own the GT and am NOT at all pleased. I was when I first got the car but over time it’s starting to become a safety issue where at normal highway speeds I have to constantly look down at gray bars to see if I have enough power to overtake a semi. It’s rare that something like this comes up but the fact that I paid a hige premium for a GT badge. I’m not tracking the car but don’t call it a performance car and charge $15k+ over the regular version and then turn around and say well it’s fast enough in these specific scenarios. What really set me off recently is the fact that the Lightning doesn’t have this issue. That’s just embarrassing for Ford that their icon branded performance car can be beat by their own work truck. How is no one at Ford not upset about this??

Based on my personal experience with my lowly SR RWD that seems hard to believe, but I have never driven a GT.

I'll have to check out the "gray bars" everyone is talking about... I drove the Mach-e GTPE to Malibu Sunday... each way was about 43 miles to the beach... I don't have the lag or passing issues everyone is talking about... I passed a few cars... and it was high 90's in passing... However, I do recall... feeling a loss of power in the 80-100 range...probably, the 5 second thing everyone is talking about. That's not a normal driving speed in the LA area... everyone is normally in the mid 70's if you're not stuck in traffic... definitely, an expensive car... hoping the reliability and lack of maintenance will make the cars value worth while. It drives really nice... comfortable... easy to park... it looks great... The Lightening will be hard to compare... for one it's a truck... and my guess is... lots of room for batteries and easier to keep them cool with the extra spare... I would be shocked if the battery pack was the same as the Mach-E...

Is that what the people with complaints have been saying? That they wanted a car to actually drag race every weekend?

Or that they wanted a car that was competitive past 60/70 with other cars in the segment like the Tesla and the Volvo and the Jaguar?
For heavens sake, the GTPE has to be on par with the Model Y in acceleration. If Tesla can do it, then why can't Ford (even better)?
Banned Frankie got it right.
