Holy cow you can really see these tires are not black on a black car.

I normally use the basic tire cleaners and shine stuff on my show cars. I don't thing the basics will help these pitiful tires look black.

Has anyone used a tire dressing, dye, etc., that will help tires look black.

The first step to a true black tire look is to remove the sealant that the tire maker uses. In days long gone by we would use brake fluid. I have used “bug and tar” remover. Then again the true color of rubber is not black. It is creamy so you may have tires that are not dyed dark black. Good luck. Repeat process if needed.

Best tire product I like is from ArmourAll. The spray can. It is not shiney but leaves a natural looking flat finish. It also cleans. Lasts about 3 months.

Carpro perl diluted 1:1 is my preferred dressing. Need tires real good and clean and be sure to apply and wipe to give a natural color. In direct light a black car is always going to look like this to some extent though...that's more to do with the lighting and the nature of exposure.

On a similar subject, I have some "Forever Black" bumper and trim reconditioner, which is for plastic trim pieces. I'm thinking of using some of it on the area below the "grill" with the slats that open. I used it in the past to darken the faded spray in liner for a pickup bed, it seemed to work well for that. Has anybody used this product for other purposes?

The white balance of your photo is a bit washed out, contributing to your gray tire look. It's so washed out it's hard to tell the difference between leaves and grass, and the sky is white rather than blue. Take a look at random profile pictures on this forum and you'll see the tires are a lot darker than your picture portrays. On my carbonized gray car, the tires clearly look black.

Yep, the key thing is making sure the rubber is clean. I use Meguiars non-acid wheel and tire cleaner, then Adam's Tire Shine since I prefer the satin finish instead of a gloss.

sure his pic is washed out, but he's right about the tires not being jet black and needing some type of product to make them look better.

Funny that I find this thread now. I just got through putting ArmorAll protectant on my tires with a tire brush. ??

It’s not super-glossy but it darkened up my tires from having nearly nothing on them. ??

I personally use 303 and apply the spray to a rectangular paint pad then wipe on the tire.
