You didn't get your car at MSRP, you got it at X-Plan. That's not a rebate, it's a price. $675 below MSRP seems low, I guess because your model is a lower price than my Premium, where X-Plan was $875 below.

Federal tax credits are also not rebates, they are non-refundable tax credits. You get nothing back.

How did you get $4,500 from the California Clean Vehicle Rebate Project, I thought it was $2,000 or $2,500 if meeting income threshold?

As long as he has a $7500 tax liability and payroll withholdings he indeed does "get something back": $7500 of his own withholdings when he files his taxes next year.

It's not a "rebate" but in the context if his post (and the above caveat) that is a distinction without a difference - especially since he WAS referring to the rebate checks he received and not the fed tax credit; he hasn't filed his 2021 taxes yet. He was ecstatic that he got a $17075 financial benefit for buying his Mach E in california.

No need to be a pedantic buzzkill

That looks like about all of the rebates, credits and discounts. One more you could count - the subsidized interest rate on the Ford Options (if you got one).

Its $4500 for lower income folks.

$17075 is a good chunk of change, I never knew you got that $7500 back from the IRS. Good Stuff.

Think of it as not PAYING additional tax - so it's a rebate on my taxes.

Wow...bitter much. You are right my FE was more, about $200 more - my bad). So I got an additional amount off because of x-plan - most do not. It counts. As far as tax credits - at the end of the day it's $7500 I don't have to pay - lets call it a rebate and go on with our lives.

You know Tesla does not qualify for the tax credit - right? I have no idea what they have to debate about. It IS $7500 off of the amount I have to pay in taxes.

It might be hard to quantify but you are right.
