Had my first problems with DCFC at an EA location that has worked great in the past...

With my son's school closed while Chicago Teachers are fighting to get reasonable COVID precautions put in place by the Mayor and the Chicago Public School system, we decided we would take advantage of the school closures and head up to our place in Northern Wisconsin... on the coldest day of the year so far. Pull in to the EA location in West Milwaukee, which is normally outstanding and that we just used a week ago. I see a Porsche Taycan charging so assume that everything is working as expected. Pull into one of the 350 kw stalls, because why not... Sadly, once I plug in, it asks for payment, instead of registering the plug and charge, but then it never accepts payment and I get a charge station fault message in the car and an orange ring around the charge port lights. I pull into five other stalls and have the same experience... Making matters worse, it was only 10 degrees outside. We finally find a 150kw stall that allows us to pay with a credit card and start charging. It oy fired up charging at a whopping 43-44 kw though, so we had to stay there charging longer than planned and actually pay for it on top of that. Truly terrible experience at an EA location that has always been outstanding. Another Mach-E driver pulled up while we were charging and had the same experience, so at least it was comforting knowing it was not just my Mach-E.

Has anyone else run into an issue like this? I know that Power Up 2.1.0. reached my car this week. I am hoping that did not cause issues here with plug and charge and potentially reducing charging speed. Also, does anyone know if WA gives refunds at all to then apply the FordPass credits from the MME purchase instead?

The only time I’ve had a problem at EA, I called the 800# and they were able to take care of the issue. Their customer service seems really good based on many comments here.
If you run into that again, I’d suggest the first thing to do is call them.

The slow charge speed was probably due to a cold soaked battery pack. Of course, that's not great since I believe WI charges per minute. I've never had P&C fail on me (I've had lots of other EA failures), so that does suck. I would have tried to activate the dispenser from the app, after signing up for their Pass+ membership.

Glad to know that the 800 number worked out. I was actually on the phone with them at the menu prompt when the last charger I tried connected and started charging. I would have tried sooner, but my fingers were so cold and numb from the harsh temps and going charger to charger that I was not thinking straight. ?
