I got 1.6, then 1.4 so I'm on stuck on that currently. Maybe I'll keep going backwards ? (and yes I'm aware they send them out in random order). Feels like Europe will get these promised updates in 2023 at the current rate.

2.4.1 Installed easy enough after my commute to work this AM. Confused like the rest of you since I've had Horn & Lights in Fordpass since purchasing a year ago.

So I have had those buttons since day 1 too, but when not in Bluetooth range, they were all “grayed out”. If you look now, even when Bluetooth is disconnected, the horn and lights button is active. So it must send the signal over the internet now just like the start signal without you having to be in range.

I wonder how this would work for OTA for me.

My OTA (Scriptable) says 2.3.0 failed and my car was updated to 2.3.0 at the dealership while it was in for the windshield recall.

If I were to try to do it OTA, I wonder if it would retry 2.3.0 first because of the prior failure, or if it would understand the car had it already and would instead install this update.

I do not have 2.4. I’ve had the horns and lights button since the car was new. It’s also showing as available right now. I’m about 200 feet and many walls away from the Mach-e. I’m definitely out of BT range.

I'm stuck on 1.7.1. Had recall done and CSP 21P22 successfully done at same time. I do not use PAAK. I have never had any of these buttons and of course still don't. Dealer tried to update 1.7.1 and it failed and have not been able to get anything since.

Ok, I pressed the button. DO NOT PRESS THE BUTTON!!!
At least Ford presents a confirmation prompt asking if you’re really sure you want to do something stupid and I foolishly said “yes”. The confirmation prompt claims the button will flash the lights and honk the horn “for a few seconds”. It LIES! The lights and horn would not go off. Remote unlock wouldn’t shut them off. Pushing the button again only brought up the prompt about asking if you’re sure you want to flash the lights and sound the horn “for a few seconds again”. Opening the drivers door did not turn them off. The only way I got to turn them off was to start the car. I’m sure I will receive a stern disciplinary action from the politburo (aka the homeowners association) in short order for “disturbing the peace and tranquility of a politburo member” (who sadly happens to live nearby).

There’s supposed to be a fix pushed this month for people in your situation. If that doesn’t work, they will have to replace s module in all likelihood.

I have two advantages here.

1. I live in a rural area.
2. I’m President of the HOA. :p

Doing this would annoy the sheep, the babies are cute. I’d be frightening baby sheep. Meh, they’ll get over it. The mongooses (evil creatures btw) will get scared, so that’s a win. Perhaps a cow poops, what else is new there?. The barn cats will get rather angry though, so I may want to reconsider this. ;)

This brings us back to the question though: just wtf is this update about?

Ignore this misinformed post. I found an old screenshot from before the update. Windows and trunk were grayed out, but NOT the horn and lights when not in BT range. I was totally wrong.
