In addition, many early access owners haven’t received 2.4 yet, so offhand I’d say it’s being tweaked some more.

This is SOP for Fords updates. They are released to Early Access members first. Then about 2 weeks later if there are no issues with EA cars it is released to the rest of the cars in staggered groups based on trim.

if you want to be a beta tester you can apply to be in the early access program.
The title perhaps should read '2.4.1 Beta released'... and share what gets noticed

I DON'T want to be a beta tester.... I'd much rather wait until a release is actually out for a while to see if there is anything new that I want, or bugs that I care about fixed. I this particular case I was perfectly happy with 1.7.... saw this title, requested update, and my car pulled the 'broken' 2.3 that says its 2.1. The only thing obvious that was added is three games I'll never use, nothing I want was added, and one feature I liked was broken.

I say broken, because My Pony Welcome lights never come on anymore to greet me.

so.... my questions for 2.4.1 Beta testers are:
1. does it fix the Welcome lights?
2. can I 'pull an update' anytime with wifi connection, or do I still have to lock/unlock doors first?
3. Has Display been enhanced to show real-time power (kW) in/out ?

and my questions for Ford remain:
1. When will 2.4.x actually start rollout on demand to public?
2. Will DETAILED release notes be included?
3. When will Ford put a searchable knowledgebase online for bugs/enhancements and Release notes by version number and release date?

got this on 2/9/2022 Build 1 F150 Powerboost
IMG_1121.PNG

I thought the PowerUp version number was all the MACH-e module version control for updates via OTA ?

If the Powerup version number doesn't tie to the module updates in the Mach-e, how the hell can we tell what our specific cars are running and whether all mach-e specific stuff is updated, changed, etc?

oh wait, maybe Mach-e specific release notes are coming along with the next update that tells me what actually got fixed or was added ?

....sorry, I'm really getting bent not knowing what the hell is in Updates and not even being able to tell if my vehicle is actually at the latest version of everything.

The short answer is it doesn’t, and you can’t.

The car does not have one version number. It is made up of dozens of modules, each has its own firmware version. The numbers associated with the OTA updates are just reference numbers, they are NOT version numbers. That’s why some may be delivered out of order. Up until recently each “power up” only addressed one module. Starting with 2.3.0 they did 2 in one update. Ford didn’t make this simple.

I was being somewhat rhetorical.... but I'm sure that anyone who has ever dealt with large complex software will agree that the version management and complete lack of development/release notes of the modules/software that runs in our MMEs is pretty screwed up.

If the PowerUp version number isn't really tied to any particular versions of individual modules, and individual modules can and are updated individually, but we as Owners can't even get to the module version numbers or the details of what was fixed, added, or broken..... This is going to get worse instead of better unless there is a 'ServicePak' update that contains ALL module updates at a known compatible level.

I think I am going to turn off 'auto-update', and stick at my current 2.1/2.3 until I see reports of an update, which is actually available, which fixes my puddle lights.

Probably a dumb question, but did you go into settings and toggle welcome lights on and off?

I checked to see if the setting had been 'reset' by the update, but it was still 'on', so I left it 'on' without toggling.

I still wonder when those other 2 games that I had on my loaner Edge will come to the MME.

Someone on the FB group posted a walk through of the Lighting 4A screen and it showed that game and a few others. They get their own folder now!

I have yet to even launch tic tac toe, doodling, tiles or bricks. I’m holding out for Red Dead Redemption 2 in story mode. While driving. :p
