Good catch!

The Ford guy should’ve known better than tell him to try hands free on a car that doesn’t have that option.

I’m also surprised they used a car that wasn’t fully optioned.
I should also note that it doesn't have the eyeball monitor on top of the steering shaft. Looks just like mine there. ??

Well, it doesn't have the camera in the grille or on the mirrors, so I am assuming it doesn't have the Active 2.0 package (which means you can't install the BlueCruise software on this particular car). ?‍♂?
But the Ford dude kept telling him to try BlueCruise which sort of implied that the vehicle had blueCruise?

Well, the statement that there is no maintenance...hmmm. Tell that to the "stop safely now" crew.
That's not a maintenance issue. That's a defect/repair issue.

2022 GTPE (sold after 2mo - suspension sucks!)

Jay wasn't particularly enthusiastic, was he? I mean, he obviously liked the car. But he didn't exactly rave about it.

To be fair, he’s seen and driven everything.

Compared to some of the things he’s driven, I would be shocked if he was enthusiastic. He did keep flooring it repeatedly though. Certainly seemed to enjoy the instant torque.

He's pretty good about keeping cars in perspective, though. He knows not to compare, say, a Bugatti to a Ford.

That said, you can usually tell when he REALLY likes a car.

It’s still not a Mustang. It’s inspired by the mustang.
The genesis of a Mustang was an affordable sports car that could be a daily driver. The Mach e is the modern epitome of that. Anyone that says the Mach e isn’t a mustang doesn’t understand what a Mustang is.

It's unlikely the Ford director guy on the video signed off on the paperwork/specs for the car delivered to Jay. All he was probably told was it's a GTPE. Besides, I doubt he keeps all this trim options stuff in his head - not part of his job.

Nah, this was a big error on his part. Being on the show is a big deal. He should be prepared.

Foot in mouth happened more than once on the episode.

Really? Do you really think that Ford would send someone who is not familiar with the product to do the one-on-one interview with Jay Leno? Check out the job title he’s introduced with. Also, note in the video he discusses his involvement in the development of the product where he went to the simulator and worked with them on the handling. I’m pretty sure he’s quite familiar with the product. That IS his job (and likely his passion as well - he’s a car guy. He understood the original history of the original Mustang.)

My only thought here is that they possibly switched vehicles?
