Has anyone else been given bouncing delivery dates?
My GT was supposed to be built on 1/10 then I heard nothing until March 5th.
I got a message that said delivery was expected March 18th, then April 15, then back to March 18th, then May 18th.
Now the car says it has chips, it was on a chip hold in February. It appears to be fully built and chipped.

Realistically what should the time from fully built to dealer be? 2 full Months seems excessive.

There are many threads showing the exact same issues with everyone. You are not unique.

My car was scheduled for the week of 1/10.
It was finally In Production on 1/19.
It was marked As Built on 3/1.
I got an email indicating it was being prepared for shipment, with delivery to the dealer of 3/19 - 3/25.

Shortly thereafter, dates in May reappeared. It still shows being prepared for shipment to the dealer, but no dates of arrival.

Once a vehicle actually ships, it will arrive in 3 - 6 weeks or so, depending on where in the country you are, and availability of trains and trucks.

Thanks for the I'm not alone, but really Fords' communication is the worst.
It's really a rather simple idea: send accurate and timely information or don't send anything.
Even a simple waiting on chips, chips installed, waiting on the train, on the train.
This is not rocket science this is just what Amazon does 10,000,000,000 times more frequently and almost flawlessly. Yes, you can argue that Amazon has gotten good at it, but I would argue that one expensive purchase should warrant a much better level of communication.

Ford is not Amazon.

Amazon is a company selling direct to consumers. Ford is a company selling direct to dealers. Multiple threads discuss this.

I just received an email from Ford Motor Co informing me that my Mach-E is built and will ship soon. Since ordering my car on 6-29-21 I have received a total of 3 emails from Ford. The good news...I will not have to install winter tires I purchased in December.

Order date June 29, 2021
Order confirmed 9-22-2021
Production scheduled for 1-15-22
Built date 3-07-22
Batch 3565 (71/300)
Estimated delivery May 2-8

Does not matter when chipped - what matters is when shipped! My Mach was built Jan 31 and is still on the way. Unfortunately I believe Ford is delivering it by dog sled and I have been unable to find a tracking tool.

Should and will are two very different things. Ford is focusing on building cars and selling them to dealers. Amazon makes nothing but money and does so as a shipping/middleman of products.

Your dealer has access to the vehicle visibility reports that provide greater detail on shipping status. Perhaps you need to get information from them.

Two months shipping time from Cuautitlan is not unusual.

Try the Twilight Bark. You may need a dog to translate. And it may only operate in London.

Ford is not Amazon, Tesla, or any modern company that communicates with its customers well.
I work for a 110-year-old manufacturing company, we sell through multiple channels some direct some in-direct. We communicate with all end customers in a timely manner. Ford has NO excuse for this, they have more than enough resources to communicate. Realistically they need to do it well or stay with the 1950s method of doing it via their dealerships. This mess of sending out bad information on top of more bad information is the worst of the 2020s and 1950s.

Took about 14 weeks to get mine to Hawaii and into my hands. It’s not going to be any faster to Fairbanks I’d bet:

<SNIP>
Well, in my case (and I think in the case of a lot of people who reserved and ordered), there was very little communication. I got a communication confirming that my reservation was in place. I ordered based on reading this forum (no communication from Ford telling me order banks were open until the following day). Dealer accepted my order withing 10 minutes of order being placed and received confirmation of order being accepted. Radio silence until I got a "chip hold" email. Radio silence from Ford Corporate until days after I signed all of my documents with my dealer. ??

So, I guess you can say that Ford Corporate followed your second option: "Don't send anything." ??

I am thinking 8 weeks. Ford ETA was Mid March before date disappeared but the dealer report was April 9th.

I have gotten a grand total of one (1) email with a link to a web page with crazy “graph” that seems to say the car is in production week of January 18. Further down on the page, there was a line saying it had an expected delivery of mid-March, which subsequently changed to early June before disappearing completely. This is the information equivalent of solitary confinement.

Before the Mach-E I would have never bought a Ford ...

When I was trying to buy the Mach-E I was certain I would/should never buy a Ford. I thought I was making a mistake as the company communication and dealer buying experience was just terrible.

Since owning a Mach-E, I love the car. It's amazing. Still not sure if I would ever buy a Ford again though.
