This is wonderful news as I use Apple Maps when I road trip but....

I'm stuck on OTA 1.7.1 Sigh

Great question @Ford Motor Company ! There are THOUSANDS of pre-July 2021 Mach E's that have not been able to receive an OTA update since November 2021. We were promised the company would have a fix to this ridiculous error since January. Want to be a real 21st century customer friendly company? Communicate with the people who've paid you millions for these vehicles about what's going on and fix the damn problem already!!!

New today! Apple released EV Maps Routing with iOS 15.4. Apple Maps EV Routing supports planning your long electric vehicle journeys via CarPlay in your Mustang Mach-E. Apple Maps will use your iPhone to read vehicle and battery data when connected to CarPlay and assist you on your journey by adding chargers into your trip as necessary.

This feature is available on all 2022 Model Year Mustang Mach-E and 2021 Model Year Mustang Mach-E with updated SYNC software. Learn more about the feature and confirm if you have the applicable SYNC software version here.

Awesome! Got a timeline for Android as well? (I know Android AutoMOTIVE is going to be integrated sometime in 2023, but what about for now?)

I look forward to seeing the future OS but I really hope that there is still an option to have CarPlay open in a window, just like it does now with Sync 4A. I am not a fan of the Android Auto interface and don't use those Google services.

Android AutoMotive (confusing name choice, I know) is not really related to Android Auto. It's an entire OS that runs on the car itself. It'll work with CarPlay!

In case anyones wondering what this looks like I set it up tonight on my phone. I’m in the Boston area and I set NYC as my destination on CarPlay. I got a prompt to continue setup on my phone because I had to agree to a few things and allow the car and phone to talk. I went through the setup, there is part where you can opt in to sending data to improve EV routing, it is not required. Once it was connected my phone could see my cars SOC and what plug types it supported. The route it chose for me included 2 stops at EA stations. I didn’t see an option to change that, but I didn’t play with it much. Seems fairly straightforward, can’t wait to try it for real.

Is it surprising that it is suggesting two stops for 232 miles when you’re starting with 77% charge? What would ABRP suggest for that same trip?

With Apple Maps via CarPlay now incorporating EV charge stops and I'm sure Google Maps are close behind, what's that mean for the Ford Navigation subscription? Is it really worth it at this point?
