I have verified this several times with my Job1 premium. If you let the car go to sleep before you plug it into a level 2 charger it won’t know where it is, and keeps charging past any limit you have set including the 100% limit. If I want it to stop at the limit I have set I must wake up the car before plugging it it. Just pushing the start button without your foot on the break is enough. I have verified both sequences several times. I once got 8 mi plus 700’ of elevation gain while still on 100%. My guess is this is just accessing the reserve. I have reported this to Ford. Who knows if they will do anything about it or when they might. I learned about waking up the car on another post in this forum. Not so good when you are charging in the middle of the night to save $ or be a good citizen

I might not be understanding but to save $ and be a good citizen couldn’t you just plug it in when the car isn’t asleep (like when you get home) and have scheduled times for it to charge overnight? Perhaps you have a reason to not want to plug it in right away though.

In the MME I have ours scheduled to charge from 11pm - 11am and if it is ever down to below 50% when we get home I just plug it it and let it do its thing.

I used to have it charge to 80% but set that to 90% a few days ago. The timed charging seemed to work well.

It is scheduled to charge at certain times, but will not respect the charging times if it is asleep when plugged in. The temporary solution is to plug in right away when you drive into the garage. My use of the vehicle is quite variable. Before a long trip I plug it in to fully charge and it just keeps charging past any limit

How far past 100% does it go? 110%?

I've never been able to change past 100%... But I do find that first 1% drop from 100% is not that accurate. Usually I get a good 10 to 12 miles before it drops to 99%!

The MME has a 99 Kwhr battery. We should only be using 88kwhr. It is only the software that limits the charging. Normally the drive from Truckee to Donner summit takes 10% battery capacity. I have gotten there with 96% when the car chargers past the limit

What if you keep squeezing the trigger a few times after to shuts off? Maybe it'll spill out the extra energy like when you do that at the gas station
you don't want to do that. you'll spill electrons all over and possibly ruin the paint!

I don't think it's actually past 100%. When I charge to 100, it's pretty typical for me to drive the car up to ten miles or so before it drops to 99%. It's got more to do with how the software is programmed to display the SOC.

Interestingly, i use an ODB2 reader and the car shows a lower SOC than it displays. For example, the screen displays 83%, but the car internal shows 80%... For what its worth. (I'll send screen shot in a bit)
