Anyone have any experience with this issue?

This started Tuesday afternoon. After not driving Wednesday, the issue still remains today. I have reset the Sync screen twice (which was no help). I typically drive in Unbridled but it appears to be stuck in Engage (the brake coach shows up when coming to a stop)

I would bet all you need is a hard reboot. Pull the 12V negative cable for a few seconds and let the car reboot itself.

I had that issue plus several other errors as that were all related to Servcie AdvanceTrack (Traction control system)
For me I ended up driving 1 mile and everything reset it self. Stop the car turned it off and on and everything was fine. Drove another 30 miles and drove some hard starts and what not and everything went back to normal.

I just tried that, and it did not work. It reset other settings like the radio, etc. I will wait a little longer to see if it resolves on its own and if not contact service. Thanks!

Sorry it didn’t work. Best of luck.

Hello!
Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer.
I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this concern. Thanks!

I had a similar but not identical issue many times last summer, coinciding with the vehicle having been parked outside, unshaded, soaking in a lot of heat on very hot days.

In my case, my preferred drive mode was available when I turned on the car, but would turn itself off (with the same Engage fallback and the message you recorded from the SYNC display) at some point between 10 seconds to 10 minutes after I'd started the vehicle. While drive modes were gone, I also observed reduced upper limits on drive power, and reduced air conditioning in the cabin.

For me, drive mode functionality returned on the next vehicle power cycle each time this happened.

Please let us know what the dealer finds on this.

+1 for this same exact experience in my 3 week old car, down to the odd reduced A/C while the drive modes were gone. Also hoping to hear what the dealer found!

Mine started with “Drive Mode Not Available” after cabin temperature or gauge got to 12-15 degrees over ambient - it was was about a 103 outside. The following day (which was hot too) AC on 4 fan speed started cooking cabin temperature - so I killed the air and drive with windows rolled down. The 3rd day, car died in a parking lot - inverter system module fault. I am not sure if these are all corelated.
I also had been having intermittent charge failures for about a month.

First issue with our First Edition MachE today. Leaving work 84 degrees, I get Drive Mode Not Available. I was in unbridled 1 pedal. The car went to No Mode, or specifically, none of the modes were highlighted. Tried stopping the car, shutting off and then back on, still would come out of Unbridled and none of the other modes were lit. Just received 2.8.3 notice update.

So 17 months and first glitch besides screen black way back about 8 months ago.

This issue just started? And it's not like it was 50F all the way up to today, it's been same temperatures, right?

Yes, same temps. Over 17 months never had it happen before? I went back out to the car after a half hour and I was able to select modes again.

Here is my update:

The issue continued as described in original post until May 15. On this day, I was able to drive home from work in Unbridled. Unfortunately, the next time I started my Mach-E the drive mode unavailable error returned and continued until May 27. On this day (after charging to 100% for the first time since owning the car Nov. 2021) the drive mode unavailable error has cleared and not returned *knock on wood*. I have been able to switch between drive modes as I please. I’m not sure if charging to 100% actually helped the situation, but that was the only thing different that was done.

I never took the car to the dealership because it’s my only vehicle and I couldn’t go without for how ever long it took them to diagnose the issue.

Will update post if issue returns!

Hey there! I can look into your Mach-E's Drive Mode concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info?
