I took my Mach E into my Ford dealer recently to have the Moonroof and Windshield recalls performed. They farmed the work out to their body shop and while the work took longer than expected it was accomplished relatively successfully. The only issue I am experiencing is that immediately after the recall, whenever I turn on Intelligent Cruise Control I get an error message saying " Intelligent Cruise Control Speed Sign Recognition not available." The cruise control still functions but in Adaptive Cruise Control mode.

Has anyone else experienced this problem after having the recalls performed? Could this be related to the windshield camera being damaged or not reconnected properly when the windshield was reinstalled?

Asking the obvious - sign recognition turned on settings? Or is that disabled? Think you SHould have the dealer check this if its a consistent message. Usually if the camera is disabled you get other messages too as I believe there is no standalone dedicated sign post recognizing camera but is shared with other visual functions.

SOunds like they messed up your camera. There's a camera between the rear view mirror and the windshield that (if i'm understanding correctly) looks at lane division and street signs.

Take it back.

Yes, sounds like they did not put the camera back straight or did not recalibrate it. They need to fix that.

Agree, the camera is either not fitted back properly or most likely the the place that they outsourced to did Not have the calibration tool required to calibrate the camera. Lot of places don't have that tool (unless they are dealers) especially for the newer models.

Hi Dan! This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your Mach-E. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

I didn't think there was, and after searching I couldn't find, a specific "sign recognition" setting...I believe it is just part of the Intelligent Cruise Control feature...and yes, ICC was turned on.

I will...thanks. I am hoping to get some guidance from the forum so I can reasonably point my dealer's service department in the right direction.

The place they sent it to is their body shop so they have ample experience with Fords...but I think my Mach E was the first one they performed the Windshield and Moonroof recalls on. Not sure if they have the calibration tool, but I'll check. Thanks.

Ah, yeah, you don't have the latest Sync update so you still have Intelligent Cruise Control and adaptive. Try turning it to adaptive, do you at least still get the speed limit sign thing on your driver's display? Does the error still pop up even in just adaptive?

I believe I am running the latest Sync 4A version: 21174_PRODUCT Revision: 168.
And yes, I have 3 cruise control modes, Normal, Adaptive, and Intelligent. I have switched between all three and I do not get the error message when using Adaptive Cruise Control. And in Intelligent Cruise Control (have not noticed it in Adaptive but have not really paid attention then) I sometimes have the posted speed limit sign in the Driver's Display...though not always.

That is not the latest, have you had the customer satisfaction update done to your car to ensure you can get OTA updates properly? Your car's build date qualifies for it, the dealer should have done it while they had your car for the recall. In one of the OTA updates, they remove intelligent cruise control and add sign recognition to a separate spot, which is all that intelligent cruise control was (adaptive + sign recognition and adjustment of your speed based on it).
