Ford mobile came to house today to do recall updates on my Mach-E. It was for the charging port recall. They called yesterday to setup appointment for today. He came plugged power to 12v and the hooked his laptop and updated my car. He said it was like 4 modules he needed to update and would take about and hour. It took about 30 mins to prep car (getting to 12v) then about 30 for the updates. But now I notice tire pressure not displaying in car on on my app. Figure it may take awhile for everything to turn back on. If not I will go to ford. Still cool they contacted me, setup appointment and then came to house. So easy for me.

They are coming to my house next week for this. Curious to learn more from your experience.

It only took about an hour. He removed panels to get access to 12v. He then check to make sure it is good. Then he plugs in power to keep the 12v battery good during updates. Then plugs laptop into OBD port. Select the update and just waits. While waiting he check the threads of my tires, miliages, brakes pads. Everything was good. He just puts it in his report. You can see the brake pads without taken tire off. When all done he puts panels back on disconnect laptop. That's about it and then leaves. He did run a check on what updates I'm missing. I had like 5 missing, he read them off to me. Most didn't ring a bell for me. Had one for the seat, I knew the word seat lol, but didn't say what exactly the update did for the seat. I would have asked him to do those updates for me but I had somewhere to go. Plus don't think he would do them anyway. Because of something went wrong it would be his fault and fors would ask him why were you doing those updates in the first place? You had no business doing those. But it looked so easy I think I would try it myself if a good update came up. I just need something to keep battery charged and cable for laptop to ODB. Then use the free software. But it will be easy when they come to your house but let us know how it goes.good luck.

This is what my dealership appointment tomorrow is supposed to be for. This needed update did not appear in my Ford pass area.

I had a similar experience, last week, from Beach Ford Mobile Service in Myrtle Beach, SC. They came to my house in North Myrtle Beach and did the same updates. He didn't connect to the 12 volt battery, he plugged my car into my Juicebox which unknowingly caused the update to fail several times until he realized the update involved the charge port door. As soon as he unplugged the car and closed the door the updates all completed. It took about an hour because of his initial mistake.
