Hi,

Do you leave your key (PAAK) inside the car when you are in a DIY/self service car wash?

Have only had my car for a month and had the key (PAAK) in my pocket at the car wash.
When I have that the car autolocks, the mirrors folds, lights flashing sometimes (Like I was going away and coming back) and the alarm is activated. The alarm also went off a couple of times when I touched the car (gently) with the hose.

How can I leave the car without it doing these things?

Is it safe to have the key(PAAK) inside the car? (I don't want to be locked about because of some auto lock, software bug or something :)).

I suspect that when you stop the car, you are not selecting to turn off the motion alarm. I discovered the hard way - meaning getting yelled at by my wife - that if I leave a window down and don't turn off that alarm, it goes off at times designed to surprise unsuspecting people.

Well, you could...

- turn off your phone while washing the car
- turn off bluetooth while washing the car

With a FOB in my pocket, that type of thing happens when I wash my car at home. I simply put the FOB in the garage...

:)

I think I did turn off the motion alarm from the display before. But that's only for the interior sensors right? In this case the alarm went off when touching the car with the hose.

So there is no way to turn off the autolock/alarm manually before washing the car?
(It's easier also to wash the mirrors when they are unfolded)

Maybe have the engine turned on when washing?
(in that case the alarm wont be active)

Just leave your key in the car. It won’t auto lock because it won’t detect the key leaving. Even if it does lock, there’s the door pillar code for getting back in.

Or go into settings and turn off whatever you want off. Walk away locks is a setting. Auto fold mirrors is a setting.

This is what I did when I used the car wash a few weeks ago. If you want to hold your phone, then leave the car on. It doesn't hurt anything for the car to be on when you are washing it.
