RFID CARWASH READER

My local carwash sells fast pass windshield stickers for unlimited car washes. I have used these on multiple previous vehicles. We have not been able to find a location inside or outside of my MACH E windshield where the sticker can be detected by their automatic reader. Web searches found similar issues with car wash stickers and toll FASTPASSes in recent Lincoln models, where there is something in the glass that blocks RFID signals. Supposedly applying the sticker or FASTPASS to the area adjacent the rear view mirror, were there are speckled black markings, solves the problem. That will be my next step.

Try your next step. The coating on most of the windshield is pretty good at attenuating RF.

My carwash has a different style sticker to go on the side of the headlight for cases like this.

I applied the car wash sticker to the left of the rear view mirror. It works fine. Thanks

I put mine on a small piece of clear plastic and just hold it out the window as I drive up. My car wash is setup to only read the bottom driver corner of the windshield so the black dotted area wouldn't work for me either.

Those washes are not good on paint. Find yourself a good hand washing car wash.

In McAllen TX the BlueWave carwash mounted the RFID on my side window. I have to pull pretty far forward but it works. It is not too intrusive.

I had to attach my Ezpass to the area on either side of the mirror, which looks like small black dots. It works fine when put there.
