After reading through the order guides posted in the thread (link above) it appears they have officially removed park assist from every 2022 MME being produced and replaced it with the Park Assist Prep Kit which means you need to purchase it later whenever the chips are available (who knows when that will be).

I am wondering if anyone knows:

1. What is the amount of the credit they reference?
2. What is the cost of eventually adding this feature back in?
3. Any other hidden features being taken away from the MME?

I have parking assist on both my other cars now and I have rarely used them other than as a novelty to see how they work but its a little concerning. I would gladly get the hands free lift gate over this feature but not sure that is even an option any more.

Thoughts??

Park Assist is only officially removed from builds starting 5/2 and later. Builds now till then should have it, but if they run out of chips the prep kit may get swapped int.

I think the hands free liftgate is far more practical than Active Park Assist 2.0. In fact, the park assist is completely worthless and I am stupefied it even exists. I watched the Ford video about how it works and I could have parked a half dozen times in the time it seems to take the car to park itself.

In almost 34k miles with this car so far I have used that feature exactly zero times. How did that feature even get developed? Is parking really that challenging for drivers to execute?

You NEED to contact your sales representative. There is a PDF form you HAVE to sign agreeing to the change to your car.

For my wife it is. This feature was a HUGE selling point for her. She has a sever neck injury which prevents her from craning her head around to execute this particular task in a car. Slow or not Its useful for a set of people. I don't need it myself, but I haven't driven the car (still waiting for it) to know how great or poor the visibility is.

On the other hand......
The auto liftgate is worthless on most cars in my opinion. They open far too slow especially if you have a dog or something who likes to jump out. They will squeeze out before you can get a hold of thier leash. I curse this feature on our Honda Pilot as it beeps at a level not needed for human ears. If its 2 am? Yeah... you are waking everyone up...

I don't know about that. They are taking it off March build week cars with no input/communication. But maybe your comment is true for all Job 2 cars.

I just talked to my sales guy. This is a requirement for all Mach-E cars affected by this change. Its apparently in his words 'a big deal' so they require a signed AP-prep kit consent letter.

I attached it for you.

Here is the scoop with my newly delivered 3/31/22 GTPE built in Feb 22, 2022

Park assist is on the screen but does nothing when you push it
Salesman tried many times when I was there picking up the Car

I know many here say it’s worthless or have no use for it. Although I can park with the best of anyone, I find the option to have it there as a bonus since I love all new tech

I am very disappointed it’s not there and Dealership was given no notice of it removed or not built or a chip issue

I am also pissed Blue Cruise is not there

Wrong... It is to make it a 'Buildable Order' is what I was told. They need you to sign it.
