I won but only because he stopped accelerating at 70 mph.
I am in the Outer Banks, NC, this week. I was traveling down 158 from Kitty Hawk to Nags Head after a trip to Walmart. At a stop light, we lined up. I saw he hit it hard when the light changed and so I floored it hoping to pass him. We stayed even, with me slightly behind because he started first, for a few seconds before he chickened out. Which was good because I was not watching my speed and was at 74 when I passed him. We also passed two traffic police stops before and after our short race, so the boys in blue were definitely looking for troublemakers like us tonight.
I wish I could have beaten him without him giving up, but really. A motorcycle isn't a fair competition, is it? I never had a chance to hit the five second restriction, which would have been the end of the race anyway I suppose...
