researching +1 width summer tires for Select 18" wheels

I expect to need new tires toward the end of this summer on my Select... It's looking like I'll be lucky to get 20k miles on them before replacement is required.

I have the stock 225/60r18 all-seasons mounted on Enkie TS-V wheels and would like go with +1 width and summer tire compound for 'spirited' driving since I have snow tires (Vredestien Wintrac Pro) mounted on the stock wheels for when it snows.

I'm not looking for track tires, but am looking for performance summer tires with a little better traction than all-seasons, without giving up too much efficiency if possible....

UPDATE 10/16/22

Stock Michelin barely made it 18,000 miles..... I decided to go with
Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus -
245/55ZR18
MSRP $240 each.... so set of 4 mounted and balanced was under $1k

one thing to note with the Enkie TSV-5 wheels is that there was NO clearance between wheel and front caliper with standard 50g weights, so I had the shop use 25g.

How wide are your Enkeis? 245 is a bit wide for the narrow 7" wide stock wheel size. If you went wider with the wheels then I would use the wider tire for sure.

the Enkei are 18x8.5 .... an inch wider than stock wheels, which I wanted to enable +1 width.

1.5“ wider than stock I believe, but that makes the 245 width perfect ?

So far I'm thinking Pirelli p7 245/50r18 would work well.... cost about $360 ea. They have a slightly lower load rating (100 versus 104), but I'm thinking that is likely just fine since I have SR battery which is significantly lighter than EX.

any others ya'll would suggest? why ?
Pirelli P7s aren’t really good summer tires and $360/each is ridiculous. That’s far more $$$ than the current best summer tires in the max performance (street) category - Michelin Pilot PS4S, Continental ExtremeContact Sport etc.

Those 2 are what I would look into since you have dedicated winter tires. You want to know why? Not only are they top rated by Tire Rack and Discount Tire, but, they’re the only 2 summer tires with a treadwear warranty - 30K miles as long as your set up is square and not staggered, otherwise it drops to 15K miles.

I’ve been running the Contis on my SS Sedan for 3 sets now and I get about 22-24K miles w/rotations. So every time they’re worn out I also end up with about a 24-27% pro-rated credit for another set! Not bad when you’re dropping $250-300 per tire…

edit: I see those don’t come in 245/50-18s. In that case, go for the Pilot AS 4s, they have summer tire levels of grip (they actually out handle and out stop many Max and UHP summer tires) and can do light snow if you get caught out unaware. Way cheaper and a 45K mileage warranty ??

I ended up going w Conti dws 06 - 245/55zr-18
which is essentially a +1 width that gives same diameter as stock tires
The 245 width is just about perfect with the 8.5" wide Enkie wheels

great so far. seem quieter than the stock Michelins, and certainly better traction. Probably will reduce range a little, but I don't have enough miles yet to quanity any closer than 'about 5%'

Dang 245/45 are solid on 20” rims**…. Those 245/45r18 are gonna be way smaller than factory diameter in 18” rim diameter; just checked that’s 2” smaller in diameter - and almost a 7% change in circumference.

I guess that’s a quick way to lower your car an inch with out screwing with your suspension ?

**I am rolling the 245/45r20 Conti’s on my SR RWD; they are great tires!!!

sorry, I was replying too fast and missed the profile difference. I got the 245/55r18 which works out to almost exactly same dia as stock

I actually do NOT want to lower at all because I drive on some pretty rocky dirt roads and I need every bit of 6" clearance, and we have some serious potholes in City and County streets that make low profile tires pretty painful.....
