I have a dealer with a GTPE they are selling. It has a large ADM but working on getting a fair trade in for my 500 mile GT (nonpe).

they won’t let me test drive unless we can agree on a price which is fine.

My question for you all is does the PE eliminate the bouncy feeling on roads especially ones with expansion cracks?

In the slim change we can agree on a price I would require a test drive on known roads but wanted to hear from the professionals here.

I have had a GTPE now for just over 2 weeks and have not experienced that "bouncy" feeling that has been described by some non PE drivers (GT or otherwise). The MagneRide suspension seems to prevent that kind of situation. Magneride and the seats are the reason that I ordered a PE.

It is the ONLY car in my entire life that I have not driven prior to getting keys to it. The first PE I "test" drove was my car after we purchased it. A bit bizarre...but this car is everything I wanted and more. We waited for more than 8 months from the order date.

I had test driven a premium and GT (non PE) prior...but never a PE other than sitting in it behind the wheel at a car show or a dealer lot.

Thanks.

I bought the GT non pe for msrp (got lucky finding a dealer out of state)

the dealer near me wants +7000. If they gave me MSRP for my tradein the deal would work since the second tax credit covers the new ADM. Unfortunately the dealer wants to give me less than MSRP so guessing they deal won’t happen.

Seems crazy given they can sell my used car, 500 miles, for more than MSRP and make more money.

Good luck...Hopefully they can make you a reasonable deal.

I just found a dealer with a used 2021 GTPE with 4,000 miles and they want 79,000 for it. Crazy times.

Yes, plenty of threads on this. I went from a Premium to the GT PE purely due to the bounce. It’s completely gone. Check Carmax, driveway, carvana, whip flip, etc. they’ll pay more. Don’t let it get away! Try and get the ADM a bit lower, even to $5k saves you $2k more.

Like others have mentioned on this thread.....GTPE's are hard to come by much less the Dealership letting people test drive and walk away. I test drove the GT before ordering mine last October and once I received mine 3/31/22, I have found the Magnaride to be much better than the GT I test drove.....Not to say, it is a Lexus ride or anything but definitely better.....

As for ADM, I think if it was me, I would be willing to pay $5K over MSRP bc I hate waiting....

Best of luck and keep us updated

I can see Dealerships selling a used 2021 for that much and IMO bc of the market, it's not outrageous either.....

If I was to sell my GTPE with less than 1500 miles and bc I have put in about $10K in upgrades.....I would ask for $85K.....Now what ppl want to pay for a decked out Cyber Orange GTPE is on them.....

My offer was my GT nonpe with 500 miles plus 13k cash. Plus additional tax / title etc.

They said no they want 16k cash. They are selling the car for +7 so the issue is they are trying to kill me on my used car value. I don’t think asking MSRP for my used car is crazy in this market and we all know they can sell it for a few grand.

Maybe I am wrong but seems like they are missing out on getting two gains.

Well what they is have is what you want at this time
Supply/demand at this time

unfortunate but if you are willing to wait, try & sell privately to other car sources (Carvana, Carmax, Vroom) etc

If you really wanna do it this bad sell your gt outside instead of trading it in. Unless they willing to come down on ADM. They will always wanna double dip given you want it bad.

I have GT. I haven’t seen bounce to a point there it bothers us. Wife drives it mostly and hasn’t complained. Will magnaride be better? Sure but I do think it really depends on the road. Some road I have seen I feel more than others. Haven’t noticed bounce so bothersome that wife would wanna trade it but I know if it was that she would tell me given how picky she is lmao.

Given the car is only two weeks old it apparently is not registered yet with the state so none of those parties will give an offer. I went to Carmax and was told the same. So will just have to wait it out then and keep looking.

Their offer isn’t really that bad.

If I’m doing the math right, their offer only costs you $2500 more than it would have to buy a GTPE in the first place.

$6k price difference between Gt and GTPE.

$7,500 fed rebate.

That’s $13,500, and they offered a $16k difference?

Maybe counter at 14,500 and call it a day?

I don’t care what the dealer makes, but $1000 more than you would have paid anyways to swap cars isn’t so bad IMO.

They wont budge in price. Maybe will go in Monday and talk in person again.

I went from a '21 Premium to a '22 GTPE. One of my biggest gripes was just how bouncy the '21 was at speed. People talked about it being a "sports car." It was anything but a sports car. Damn thing handled like boat over 70 mph. The GTPE is a completely different story. It handles like a sports car and is glued to the road. I can't wait to take it to the track this summer. It handles much more like the Porsche Cayman I used to own. Bounce GONE. I paid $5K ADM for the GT but got MSRP for my 14 month old trade in that I bought under X Plan.
