Update: got the continental extreme contact dws+ tires installed and what a difference! The car handles so much better - what I remember the GT was like when I test drove it. And this was at recommended tire pressure which is a bit high IMO. A reminder on how important rubber is :)
How's the noise with the Conti's over the summer pirelli's?

just curious, what brand / size tires did your mme come with ?
pirelli p zero nero 245/45 r20 103y. They are the electric tuned ones. Not a huge fan tbh. I’ve always gotten conti tires for past 2 decades.

My better. Regular road imperfections are just a small noise without jarring you. I haven’t taken it on a longer highway trip yet but around town on some faster roads yesterday, it was definitely more quiet.

Magna ride gets so oversold on this forum it’s not even funny. Just wait till you get suspension faults in those NE winters. You’re going to have to drive in unbridled to have body control over bad roads. Enjoy lol

roads are definitely a factor, my 2022 GT, no magna ride does get a little bouncy on NY roads, recently went to Pa. to visit, once I got out of NY and on NJ turnpike felt like I was in a different car,
I have continental cross contact tires. anyway drive & enjoy

Most definitely it does not. My premium was so bouncy, the Ford tech was like damn... that sucks lol. Magneride on my GTPE is loads better purely because of no bounce. Now, if my Premium had no bounce, would I say Magneride was amazing? Not sure, probably not, as I purely drive in whisper anyways (until they allow customizable drive profiles... if ever).

But being that my route to work was PURE bounce, holy hell, it is amazing.

Whisper + Engaged were bucking broncos on my 22 GTPE. I really noticed it because I have 6+ speed bumps exiting my HOA and wow... it was bounce bounce bounce! I had recommended psi too and an empty car. I used a portable air compressor to tweak and adjust psi multiple times. No diff. Unbridled was the only mode I could drive in on local roads and the throttle mapping is too sensitive for my liking.

My current Premium on 42psi (slightly higher than recommend) does not buck over speed bumps. It's closer to Unbridled on my former GTPE.

Suspension was half the reason I dumped the GTPE. The other was a half-baked Unbridled Extend mode.

I'm not referring to that bounce, which is more like a buck, I'm referring to the harmonious bounce reported on one of the longest threads on the forum. It is an oscillating bounce that just drives you crazy and/or makes you sick!

Maybe, maybe not.

People here focus on ride quality, when what makes it “amazing” is that it rides decently well but handles extremely well. Two things that don’t usually go hand in hand.

I mean seriously…… we pull .99 G on the skidpad with so so tires in a 5,000 lb SUV.

THAT is amazing!

My 2 cents:

I never drove the GT but I did test drive a RWD premium and was very underwhelmed with the ride quality and the ride modes which felt indistinguishable. “Bucking” was my thought after driving it prior to joining these forums.

I never initially considered the GTPE due to price but it was the only model available at one dealership and the cyber orange/wheels/front fascia was quite attractive. I was super impressed with its drive And The modes to me actually felt very different in how the car handled. Kudos to magneride?
On whisper mode very comfortable for long drives and it handles most road imperfections without fuss. The unbridled mode feels like the car gets lowered an inch and I like the fake sound but wish it was louder. My prior family car was an Audi RS3 and it honestly felt no difference in its different modes as it was stiff in all of them.
this is my first car with magneride but I’m a believer!
As others have said previously rubber and psi are important in handling!
