Whoa - I have to check my Lightning because it rides so bouncy too...Yeah, here's a thread, there is also another thread with the actual bulletin to dealers. They can be a different color, but you just get under there with a flash light and should be able to see them.
The roads in CA are not any better. I agree the summer tires are not great. I cannot wait for them to wear down so I can replace them. I want to stick with the EV type tires so I can keep my mileage as high as possible. Of course, the way I drive with my GTPE, that statement rings with some irony. I have not researched the tires yet, but there are some good threads on the forum that should provide most of my information...... the summer tires just don't seem to be great for the way the suspension is tuned and the crappy/uneven NY roads.
As far as the bounce and motion sickness of your friend, I think both were explained by “whisper mode.”So fall is here in NY, and went upstate and of course the cold weather reduced my tire pressure (cold seems to be at 32 and while driving/hot it was 35). The ride quality was night and day. So I'm excited to replace the summer tires with all seasons and will keep pressure on low side (and sacrifice range) for what really ended up being an ideal ride. Not sure if others have experienced this...
Mine have been accurate on each vehicle I own.As far as the accuracy of the TPS sensors, they are not accurate. I have talked to a few people who have indicated theirs are either high or low. I know mine is off by 2 pounds, at normal temperature. Yes, I have a calibrated quality tire gauge so I know not to trust the TPS other than to say "you got a flat" .
It's the total opposite in our GTPE. The ride hides road imperfections and seldom do we ever feel the road. We did change to all season Michelin pilot a/s 4 which have been excellent in snow and rain. Running local at 3.5 kWh and 3.0 kWh highway at 65 mph a.c. on with cruise. Get this checked out since it looks like a susp. failure. Good luck,I got the GTPE for the magne ride (and the wheels) since I read/saw reviews that mentioned the bounciness in other trims. I had some friends visit this weekend and we took a short road trip. NY roads are awful, but we still got quite a bit more bounce than on my 7 year old Lexus NX. My friend's daughter almost threw up from the ride. Anyone else seeing bounciness on the GTPE as well? I was in whisper mode which helps around town, on highways engage/unbridled does help to tighten things up. I love the ride otherwise...
Note I have the OEM summer tires - I'm going to get all season in a couple of months before winter (continental or michelin pilot) which I think may help as well.
Great to know, I'll plan to switch when my tires are spent. Sticky is great for maxing grip but I just don't need that anymore.Update: got the continental extreme contact dws+ tires installed and what a difference! The car handles so much better - what I remember the GT was like when I test drove it. And this was at recommended tire pressure which is a bit high IMO. A reminder on how important rubber is![]()
just curious, what brand / size tires did your mme come with ?Update: got the continental extreme contact dws+ tires installed and what a difference!
