I charge at home with a Juicebox40. I’ve had 3 charging sessions with no issue. Ford pass is set to charge between 9PM and 10AM to 90%.

I woke up this morning to a notification that my battery was charged to 100%. The ford pass app only shows a charging session that took it from 90% to 100%. When I plugged the vehicle in at 7PM, I was at 69%.

You can see on my Juicebox app where it’s plugged in at 7PM but the car doesn’t start taking power until around 11PM. Then it ramps back up to precondition in the morning.

Have you actually checked in the car. All numbers in FordPass should be questioned. The app is known to be shiiit.

My car has tried to charge to 100% 2 nights in a row. I believe it is a FordPass issue.

Dash shows a 100% charge and you can see on my juicebox app when the charge current tapers off once it gets over 90%.

It was worth a shot. My FordPass and car often show discrepancies. So I always ask.

They must be doing some updates in background. Yesterday I was at a restaurant with car in viewing distance and sitting in a parking lot fully unplugged and was unplugged for at least a good hour. at the restaurant I got a message my car just reached its 90% charge goal.

Most likely the GPS in the car got lost, it has happened to me twice. The car thinks it is parked somewhere other than at home. Bring up the map in Ford Pass app and see where it shows the car, when this happens.

I have seen the car 1 mile away, 12 miles away, and once after a trip >100 miles away. The Nav quits working correctly when this happens as well, but if you are not using the nav, the problem will go unnoticed.

I guess as a backup I can set the amount of power my juicebox will transfer, but that’s pretty annoying. I would have to look at the battery percentage and then calculate what it’s current kWh level is. Then set that in the juicebox app so it will calculate how many kW to transfer to get to 81.9 kWh (90% x 91kWh)

The world will not end with 100% charging every now and then. Give Ford a chance to shake out the issues with FordPass/servers.

I'm really surprised to not see this posted more often. My car charges to 100% 2/3 of the time. Set in the car and in the app to charge to 90%, no preconditioning (because neither the car nor the app will keep the setting) and no schedule.

I've had it to my dealer who checked with corporate and was told, "It is performing to specification." In other words: we have no idea. All I can do is hope the buffer between 100% and true full capacity will protect the battery so it doesn't kill it in the long term.

Out of curiosity, do have time of use set up to charge at certain time in both the car and EVSE?

Two thoughts:
1) System thinks the car isn't in the right location. Delete charging locations and redo them (can do this immediately after plugging in)

2) Did you have an update to 2.7.2? That update is known to wipe charging settings along with a few others.

Yeah, this happens to me a lot, and as another poster mentioned, it is because those charge settings can only be set for a specific location, and for whatever reason the GPS thinks that my car is at a different house in my neighborhood, or in some cases a nearby town. This is the issue for me at least. In order to kind of solve it, I've had to save every "wrong" charging location it uses and then set the max charge % all over again for that location. It's shocking that there is no default or global setting for this. I usually check the app for the max charge level every time I plug it in to make sure it's working correctly.

A recent over the air update wiped my charging locations (and the 80% limit I had put on it), and I also inadvertently charged to 100% (gotta sell the car now, lol j/k).

Perhaps the same happened to you?

This.

We’re in the hypercritical phase around here. On top of all that, most errors are operator induced. Whether that’s true in this case us another story though.

If the problem repeats itself, then it bears greater investigation.
