Hello all. I have my first mishap with my MME. I got a nail in my side tread on my tire and the tire needs to be replaced. Luckily I purchased the tire maintenance insurance so the tire will be free, Thank God. But, today, I was thinking. Where is the car jack and the lugnut socket. Is this normal for the MME? Is anyone else missing these items and is that normal since I don't have a spare? Should I purchase these items and replace the lugnuts with a locknut on each tire.

What are your thoughts.

There is no spare tire to replace a flat with, so no reason to give you a jack or lug nut wrench.

You get a tire inflation/repair kit. No spare, no jack.

Honestly, it's been ages since I've changed a tire on the side of the road so not sure I would invest in a spare kit. That's me, YMMV

If your car is anything like mine, you may also have locking lights lug nuts that were added on when you purchased. Hopefully your dealership did better than mine and actually included the key to get them off. My dealer put the 4 original lug nuts in and no key.

Thankfully my local dealer did have one of the required bits when I went to them for my 10k mile tie rotation. Called selling dealer and have gotten nothing outside of a "we're working on it" which was over a month ago.

You might want to search YouTube for a method to remove your locking lugs without the tool.

They give you a tire foam sealant kit. It sucks.

A good investment might be a valve core stem tool (there should be one in the sealant kit, but a screwdriver-style tool is handy) and a proper T-handle plug kit.

Fortunately, I didn't have that problem. Good luck on that.

Yes, I had a kit for my truck. Got it from autozone. I think I'm going to get a kit for my MME. Thanks for the conformation.

Why get a valve core stem tool? I know they aren't expensive, but why would one be needed? The manual for the car doesn't mention needing one. Is that just to replace the valve stem after ruining, I mean fixing, the tire? I presume one would just get that done as part of the ultimate tire repair at a shop, right?

I think I misunderstood what you were taking about. I was saying to get a repair kit that you can purchase from autozone or an automotive store to plug your tier until you can get it replaced if nessecery. Not a valve stem. Yes a new stem would just come with the repair at the shop.
