Can't search for certain words in the owner's manual - or on this forum!

My door open chime was going off incessantly, even when parked and off (I've since discovered on the forum that it was because the headlight switch got turned to "on" from "auto", probably at the car wash).

I searched on the in-car owner's manual for the word "ajar", and it shows no entries, even though the word appears many times. I've been having this problem lately with other word searches, making the manual pretty useless.

But the crazy thing is, I just searched for "ajar" on the forum, and it likewise is showing no results, although a Google site search does indeed show the posts with that word. What's the heck is going on???

Have you tried using the Google search function? It's this "G" icon in the forum's search dropdown menu.

Gives me better results than the forum software's internal search function. The google search gave lots of "ajar" results.

I didn't use google, and searching for ajar gave me 4 pages of results.

I think it’s a door chimes thing that is related to the headlight dial. Rotate the dial to off, and then back to Auto.

Yes - that's what I meant by doing a Google site search, but the more important issue is why doesn't it work in the car owner manual.

Using the Microsoft Edge Browser on a Windows 11 laptop. Searched the owners manual for "ajar" and got 17 found.

Hmmm.... Yes, the search function on the forum now seems to be working. Strange.

But the search function in the car is not working properly. I was wrong about searching for "ajar" showing no entries. I just tried it again, and it shows 3 entries, but none of them have the word "ajar": two of them about the Alarm Security Level, and another about the Hazard Flashers.

Searching for "door ajar" does bring up 4 entries including "ajar". But searching the PDF owner's manual, ajar pops up 21 times. And it makes no sense that you'd have to include "door".
