I just stopped by San Tan Ford. The car is around the (south? I think?) side and sounds like it will be there for a while. Appointments set up in half hour blocks to come see it, but they'll let anyone look at it.

I took a few pics, maybe not much new that others haven't seen, but included below.

A few thoughts:
  • Finding the car info screen wasn't easy. I never really did find a one stop place to see how much charge was left, how much mileage was remaining, etc. I'm sure it's there, but it wasn't intuitive in how to find it. Was searching for a giant "Car Info" button like the Prius has to give me all the info I needed on one screen but alas.
  • I liked the door handle thing. I am a big fan of clean lines and was a bit nervous about this odd handle thing they added in. Turns out it's nice. The back door doesn't have one, so the kids have to grab the car door with their grubby hands to open it. The front door does have it and it makes it really nice and easy to open
    • The doors are heavier than I was expecting...
  • The sound system is REALLY nice. They had some light EDM playing, not too loud but loud enough and it sounded great. The sub in the back produced a great amount of bass.
  • The back seat is roomier than I was imagining
  • Same with the cargo area. Opening the hatch, and it had more room than I was expecting.
  • The divider tray is installed in the front, but as people noted, looks like it's held in with 2 screws and can be removed.
  • No problem getting in and out, but I'm 5'10".
  • Seats were comfy. Rented a Subaru Outback on our trip last week and those seats were hard as a rock. These were nice and comfy.
  • It's a sharp looking car. Looks really nice from all angles.
  • There's an odd sensor thing that expands all the way across the steering wheel. My assumption is that this isn't for a display, but holds eye sight sensors to ensure you aren't asleep and eyes on the road during autopilot?
  • The door handles to exit the car are pretty neat. Not the standard handle you have in every other car.
  • I've never had a car with a kick-to-open liftgate, but think I'm really going to like it.

Wow. Look at those tire pressures. 15 psi more than any car I've owned.
That's exactly what I was noticing. Don't think I've owned a vehicle that went over 35. Our 2013 Escapes typically ride between 30-35. Low pressure light comes on below 29.

Not sure about that. Galpin had
I heard that the Sunnyvale, CA dealership received the most in the country. Wonder how many that actually is...

I get that the tires on EVs are run at higher pressure to reduce rolling resistance (ie improve range), but I'm concerned about two of the likely outcomes:

1) The ride is a bit harsher due to the increased tire stiffness, and
2) The resulting reduced tire footprint and increased stiffness will negatively impact road "grip" , especially in wet, icy and snowy conditions.
That's my concern too. Especially #1. I fear that they're making the tires hard as a rock to boost that range#.

Hmmm... Yeah, trying to recall back. If my recollection is right, it was more cream-ish color.
In my opinion Thats a nicer color than lighter grey. Some of the early pics months ago show more greyish color so was asking.

Thanks for all the pics. The car sure looks good, worth the wait.

It is hard to tell how is the panel gap from the pictures. How do the gaps look up close?

I wonder what it means to use energy for “ext. temperature,” as a distinct category from “climate use.”

Perhaps maintaining battery conditions?

I would guess that the "ext temperature" applies to the outside ambient air temperature's affect on battery efficiency, whereas "climate" means the settings of climate control system (A/C or resistive heaters) in the car.

Nothing stood out about them... The B&O soundbar up front was nice, and I distinctly remember a nice bass kick from the door speakers. As one of the engineers said in the video, the first thing everyone does when they get in is focus on that giant screen, and I was no exception. It took over everything and I paid little attention to much else - sadly. It's really nice tho.

One thing I wish I'd have done is put my phone on the charging spot under the screen. There's a rubber mat there, and my phone has a cover, so I'm thinking there's no way I would have received a charge signal on it.

Maybe, although I wonder how they could even quantify that, and what it’s relative to.

In this photo it shows 69% of energy usage to “route” (presumably, the drive motors), and 8% to ext. temp. If it is about lack of efficiency, in reality 77% went to the drive motors, and at some ambient temperature for the same drive, one would have to expect 69% to route and 0% to ext. temp.

If however it is battery maintenance (e.g., energy converted to heat or cool them), it makes sense to separate into categories.

Yeah, someone please put a Max size phone of some sort on that charging pad and see if it fits, and registers to charge through a case if possible.

I‘ve got a spare old iPhone 7 Plus that I can bring with me on Monday to try for size.

Was there today also. The interior is more white than gray, but the nice thing is about the color is that it matches the headliner and A pillars. It is a 'cooling' color that really sets part the interior features. I have a similar color in my Camry, and trust me, it does NOT get dirty or discolored. One customer there today had his order changed to the lighter interior color after seeing it. IT IS A BEAUTIFUL CAR!!!

Everything about the MME today was amazing! I was only disappointed in the size of the frunk. It seems smaller than the pictures and there is a ledge on the front and lower down that takes up quite a bit of space. I cannot see a cooler going down into the frunk completely. I was impressed that they put a light in the front right side of the frunk for seeing into it at night. By the way the White exterior was beautiful!
