For daily driver, EV is definitely better unless you have no access to easy charging. But when it comes to small fun cars. There is not even an option. Nearly all of them are big SUVs. Even the few sedans are big and heavy. I really hope there will be a light weight low seating 2 seater EV sports car with a decent 200 Miles range at affordable price. Wondering if the upcoming 2024 electric Mini will do the trick.
Didn't Tesla make that like ten years ago?

I'm sticking with my ICE BEV combo. Different tools for different jobs. Both have their place, and my ICE car still turns more heads
Agreed. Have gas, diesel, and EV here. And my ICE definitely turns more heads!

Wouldn't expect moparguy to hang around a ford forum for long but there's not much in the mopar catalog right now for BEVs. ;)
Did someone say Mopar? My friend has Mopars!

You are wrong :D , I've been in this country for 7 years and I always owned at least one Ford, right now I have two, Fusion and Mach E and before the Mach E I had a Bronco, before the Fusion I had a Taurus.

The Mopar catalog has great cars right now but gas is my issue, if gas goes down, I'd get a V8 again, Hellcat to be specific, nothing really compensates for that engine sound and continuous performance.

Ah tesla roadster. You do know that thing is 200K right? And still not out to this day. Honestly, if I can afford a 200K car, I will get a Lambo or Ferrari.

My son will get my Trans Am someday and I'll get a Vette. Probably used so it will be gas powered.
Wait for the E-Ray which will be a hybrid. Comes out in 2024 so start saving.

We have family in New Mexico, 700 miles away. The Audi TDI make the trip on one tank of fuel. I'd have to make 3 stops in the Mustang.
Should of gotten the route 1. In thr summer I am getting 377 mile range.

I love my ‘22 AWD Select, but when my neighbor rolls by in his ‘21 Mach 1 with cue ball shifter, I just have to stop and behold the awesomeness.

I guess I'm in the minority with this answer but we own 6 ICE mustangs and the Mach E. I'll never not own both. My husband and I have a mustang addiction and this was just another addition to the collection.

Nope, I read that part, and you’re still wrong. It wasn’t affordable when they made it 10 years ago.

Affordable
BEV
Coupe

Doesn’t exist yet and didn’t exist 10 years ago either.
Did they not sell all of them? They were very much "affordable" unless it's the liberal mis-representation of affordable.

That's a pretty liberal definition of an affordable car, to be sure. By that standard, a Bugatti is "affordable" since they sell as many as they make. If you use the standard of your car costing no more than 15% of your monthly income, with average US wages about $6K/month, that works out to total cost of ownership of $900 a month. Average car insurance in the US is a bit more than $100, figure 1 fill up a week at $70 per, you get to just a bit over $500 a month in car payments.

Roadster gets nowhere near that:
New Car Leases Under $500 A Month - CarsDirect

On topic, I think it's likely I won't buy another new ICE after the 2 we have now rotate out, in large part because there's just no reason to, for my family. Chances are, an ICE wouldn't be available, anyway.

Now, a used ICE, like anything with 6+ cylinders and more than 2 pedals, is always a distinct possibility.

We just test drove a PHEV Lexus NX450h+ and were unimpressed with its EV only acceleration. We like to travel to places inland where charging stations are few and far between so we were considering a PHEV with some reasonable range (and looks) to replace my wife's Volt. The Rav4 and Lexus are the only PHEVs with reasonable EV only range so we'll stick with BEVs and figure out the charging "deserts".
