I can tell you have no interest in becoming educated, and are just wanting to troll on here. Have a good day.

Excited to see how Sunday's event turns out!

I don't think you understand the focus of this car. It is not an energy efficient anything, it is a PERFORMANCE driven vehicle, by Ford.

Watch this video, take note of all the cues, (like the Ford Performance cars in the back, when people are speaking, etc). There is nothing in this video that says anything about a wife taking kids to soccer, or saving fuel, or being eco.... it is 100% on focus, about PERFORMANCE...!

You are failing to even recognize Ford's own marketing, or disregarding it entirely. Instead, choosing to say because tesla is fast 0-60, then Ford can't have a performance Mustang, that is also a EV.

ed: Ford's up & coming F-150 EV will probably out accelerate the Mustang, does that also make it a sportscar..? Or is it just safe to say/suggest.... you don't drive performance vehicles, or have never tracked a car and can't imagine someone paying a premium, for a mustang inspired EV.

I completely understand their marketing of this vehicle. Do you know why they are touting it's performance instead of the environmental benefits, cost saving maintenance, or hauling capacity? It is because they are playing to their audience. They need to convince their customers that are currently rolling coal to other EVs that EVs are performance monsters, not hippy/yuppie cars (even though Teslas are performance monsters). Their marketing department is incredibly intelligent. They are up playing performance to entice people that typically wouldn't care about another EV.

ejss,

I'm with you on this one. Having grown up with may muscle cars, I applaud Tesla for pushing the automotive market forward. I don't understand why people think Tesla's are for yuppies, who don't care how a car drives. Just look at the interviews with the Tesla development engineers and they are just as excited about their vehicles as Ford is about the Mach E. Search YouTube and you'll find many videos comparing various Tesla's to current ICE sports cars on the track, not just acceleration comparisons.

I think we all just need to wait until Sunday for actually factual data on the Mach E. I have my own wants and desires for my next vehicle, and if the Mach E doesn't match-up, so be it.

Also there will be a lot of variants in terms of battery pack and trim levels.

Still doubt this will in any way be a limited production vehicle. Maybe it launches with limited production while it ramps up to full production but this is a vehicle meant to sell in large numbers to the masses. It's being built in Ford's Cuautitlan Mexico plant which has capacity to produce more than 500k vehicles annually so production volume won't be an issue.

I't's not limited production, it's a mass production vehicle across NA, EU, and China. There will be a limited edition first edition variant though. Anyone who says anything else is full of shit, i have inside knowledge.

I just received the same email about the limited run first editions. Quality first post though lol. I'll be throwing down my $500 deposit asap on Sunday.

It am anxiously waiting for details of the limited edition and the regular production versions.

I will not make any decisions until information is available about all the offerings and availability date. I doubt I can wait one year as vehicle needs are changing quickly do to job changes.

My needs won't change other than my kids growing. That makes car seats gone though, so I can't complain about that! I think this should be big enough. Anxiously awaiting Sunday. I've already set reminder for youtube and followed their twitter.

That was terribly over reaching and bad.

Your whole post is moot, because your analogy is flawed. Sounds to me like you are describing Tesla (not kodak) with only one type product, Electric Vehicles. Having only one type of revenue stream..

Where as, Porsche, Audi, Ford, Jaguar, etc... all make both types of cars & trucks. Tesla won't survive another decade once Ford, GM, Audi, VW, etc all release their own EVs. Because Tesla has nothing to fall back on when competition enters the market.
Henry Ford had nothing to fall back on.
