Battery dropped. Waiting in ford to send new HVJB dealer said ETA is 7-10 days ?. Case open with ford but so far faster part being sent so far.

UPDATE 2.0 7/26

Just spoke to FORD rep and part will arrive tomorrow 7/27 now woooooo. Need to call dealer now and see if it will be done tomorrow or the day after.

UPDATE 3.0 7/27
New HVJB install. Car is on the charger and will be able to pick up tomorrow. Wify and I. Making the trip at Butt crack to get there when they open to pick her up and drive back home. Woot woot

UPDATE 4.0 7/28

Car is fixed and picked up this morning driving it back to Sacramento, CA.
Paperwork says they put the”b” not the”c”. ? HVJB but so far so good. It will get 2 DCFC from 30-80/90 ish both times and I’ll WOT it after it and freeway to see if she does it again.

So ford is sending me a debit card with my reimbursement email did not say how much they covered of the receipts I sent in but they did give me a free warranty 5 year 75k premium with 100 deductible. Got car with 4 year option. Not sure I’ll keep it after the 4 year but we shall see how it goes at that time

Started trip to seattle, wa for Pokémon go fest from Cirtus Heights, Ca (Sacramento suburb) Yes I play Pokémon GO besides the the point.

Started trip 0900 7/21 with 100% battery 268 miles on the GOM.

Citrus Heights 100% 269 range drove to

Anderson CA EA at a Safeway with 38% 95 miles left on GOM (159 miles drove )
38-80% charge averaged 108 to 80% battery in 90 weather. Did not know but I got an update while driving
Priority Update 22-PU0601-SRV-RC

no issues during charge once done in 25 mins unplugged and started drive to next EA normal grey bars for DCFC gone after 3 mins on freeway.


Then from Safeway EA Anderson ca to Walmart EA Yreka GOM 80% With 208 range
Drove 105 miles 33% 82 miles left GOM
Went shopping, ate got 1 hour 4 mins to charge to 97% in 105 GOM 247.

charger seemed to take a while in the 105 heat. Same grey bars gone after few mins on high way.

Walmart ea yreka to Springfield, or. Yelp did not make it. About 20 miles from roseburg, or going 69 mph(heh heh) I gave it about half GT power to pass a semi truck got up to 80 and bam wrench and red turtle thing on dash. 33% power. Easily climb up the mountains no issues.

Was about 445 pm and Called the closest ford dealer which was Lithia Ford Lincoln of Roseburg. Hands down super cool people they close at 5pm but was like if you can get here we can run the code. Tech comes out runs it forgot the code number but says code says to drop battery to make sure connectors are seated if seated replace HVJB, but since they closing I have to come back in am to drop off car.

Sucks but ok. Car drives still which is awesome drove to a hotel. Called ford corporate which gave me a case number which will pay for my hotel, rental car(up to 60 bucks a day) food, gas. I have the option to ship car , pick it up driving and or flying. Ain’t mad at all @Ford Motor Company is taking care of me so I’m happy. Let’s see how long it takes to fix it. Techs don’t work on sat or sun.
Will drop off car in AM. Get rental in am and will make my way to seattle, wa.

I'm glad Ford is taking care of it's customers. Im often more connected to a company or contractor that has something go wrong and their care and response to the incident often leaves me really impressed and I tend to have a respect and connection that I may not have if all goes well and I never see how a company steps up to take care of customers. Hope your on the road soon.

That update you posted isn’t the recall update.

I got that update OTA a few weeks ago and the recall yesterday.

Recall is 22S41B according to my paperwork.

I don’t think it would be drivable if he didn’t have the recall update, right?

I got the real recall about 2-3 weeks ago. The OTA came today after 2.8.2 or 2.83 like 3 days

This absolutely seems like waaaaay more frequent failures post recall than before the recall.

I think this recall is gonna have another recall. Unfortunately the dealer did the recall on my car yesterday while it was in for service.

I think this recall is gonna have another recall. Unfortunately the dealer did the recall on my car yesterday while it was in for service.

It’s ford way of doing them slowly and saving money vice a mass recall.

Also looks like most failures are on long trips with multiple DCFC. I was able to drive 30 miles after it happened, to a dealer, turned it off on purpose. Started back up drove to hotel turned it off , then food turned it off , then back to hotel for night. You can drive it what’s matters to me vice a total failure. I almost asked them to clear the code and keep driving to seattle. ??‍ But chose not too. After I noticed a push from ford pass that said
Electric Powertrain Fault
Electrical system fault detected. Your vehicle
may shut down without further warning. Like ok not worth the chance.

Prior to the trip, how often did you DCFC? How often do you "floor the car?"

HVJB is the isssue, but we knew that. The battery has been dropped. Part is supposedly 7 to 10 days out. Picture attached
