After 6k miles logged I still feel the extreme bounce on my 4X ER Premium. I was hoping it would break in by now or I would get used to it.

When driving with my wife and baby in the back, I have to announce “bump” so they can brace themselves before the go flying.

Im hoping the sway bar corrects it but have little hope that will be the solution. At this point, we are going to look to trade it in for something else.
Take a look at latest response from someone who installed KW

Had the Steeda installed this past Tuesday and went for a road trip to Kennett Square Pa, 165 miles each way. Who knew it was the mushroom capital of the world?

after this trip both my wife and I feel that the car feels a bit better. Maybe a touch more stiff in the back and a little less bouncy. Not very scientific. I haven’t been able to drive same roads I normally do.

bottom line is I am happy or satisfied . Probably $385 satisfied , since that is how much the sway bar and installation cost. I used the outermost setting. May change that if I change tires.

car still isn’t what it should be (because Ford cheaped out) and KW is probably the real answer at the present time or the EV Macan when it comes out.

Got a base model Lightning for the weekend here is my super unscientific results. What is funny is I felt the Lightning was really bouncy but results show it was better than GTPE in a lot of areas.

I had a Premium AWD ER for about 3 weeks and carefully watched for the bounciness - which was minimal except over speed bumps (where it would hop like a bunny) then I picked up a GTPE yesterday. I don't think the 4X is any different than my other EVs (Model Y, Model 3, ID.4, etc). The ID.4
definitely has the smoothest suspension.

My GTPE is way bouncier than the 4X even in Whisper. The tires were underinflated too (37psi) and I bumped them to 40psi and it made it worse. I heard somebody had "defective" MagneRide suspension. How does confirm this?

Very interesting. I am picking up my GTPE tomorrow going from a GT. It felt better but wasn’t amazing. I was wondering the same thing if there was a setting or something to turn it on as the difference wasn’t as great as people made it seem. But maybe I didn’t have enough time behind the wheel or I have wrong expectations.

At least one forum member reported experiencing defective MagneRide, which caused a very bouncy ride. Maybe yours is the same. But what he reported was borderline dangerous to drive. It completely failed and there was no damping at all.

After ~3 weeks with my GTPE, I can honestly state that the ride is awful. WAY too much vertical motion on most road surfaces.

How did this suspension calibration ever make it out the door, Ford?

It's subtle bounciness. My MINI electric is like a hard skateboard with no bounce over the same roads. The GTPE bobs through subtle undulations in the road - but not dangerously bobby. It actually reminds me of my Model Y (I had 3 and Y at the same time and tested both back to back on the same roads. The Y has microbounces whereas the 3 pretty firm).

I personally don't mind. I just thought MagneRide would smooth it all out.

To me, my ID.4 was significantly better than my Premium AWD SR. I sometimes regret trading it in. It was easier to live with in a lot of ways.

I do miss the suspension and softer ride but after that 8-ish mile test drive, I wanted nothing to do with the capacitive + haptic controls. If I wanted a softer ride these days I'd buy an Ioniq 5. Better safety features, premium audio, 800V charging, V2L are just icing on top.

As for my GTPE... I notice the MagneRide helps over train tracks. I'm not noticing any real difference between it and my Premium AWD ER except maybe no body roll. I will intentionally drive it over brick roads and construction zones this weekend (also have all of next week off).

Final day for the group buy. If you’ve been in the fence about ordering, consider you can always resell after purchasing if you don’t end up install. The ORT price link expires tonight at 11:59PM eastern.

KW pricing goes up tomorrow to $3200 + shipping. Last chance!

After driving my 2022 Premium RWD for six months, I picked up a 2022 GTPE last week and drove it for 1,500 miles.

The ride in the GTPE is noticeably smoother than the Premium, especially over big obstacles such as railroad tracks and speed bumps. Grateful for the magneride suspension!

I haven't felt a bounce so far on my CA Rt1 AWD. I've sat both in the front and back, and we have had our 2.5 month old in the back on several occasions too. She falls asleep every single time we take her somewhere in it, even more than she did with the ICE.
I don't know if I just got lucky and the person at the plant who tuned the suspension knew what they were doing, or maybe it is there and I just don't notice because this is by far the nicest car I've ever owned/driven?

Maybe your 2.5 month old falling asleep proves it is a rocky ride ?

It 100% depends on the roads in your town / state. Asphalt nice roads it drives wonderful. Concrete roads with expansion cracks every 6 feet or just crappy roads from the winter and you will know quickly how bad the suspension is. And for the record GTPE is better but not amazing. Just my opinion.

This I noticed.

Over speed bumps? Premium AWD ER and GTPE both exhibit a bunny hop. I have 5 speed bumps in my HOA so I get to experience them daily.

On the flipside, my MINI electric is 100% planted to the road even over bumps and exhibits zero bounce.
