Please let me know if a garage charging station can be DC direct with 50+ miles per hour of charge? Seems like the Ford Connect charger gets you to almost 30 miles per hour. 20 miles/per hour - is that possible with the Ford Mobile Charger provided?
Thank you! I'm working with an electrician but many of them are new to this installation. PS - love the Ice White Premium look!

I would stick with installing a level two charger. https://www.amazon.com/JuiceBox-40-Next-Generation-Electric-Charging/dp/B07ZL41687

This is the one I had installed.

You may want to check your local resources for any rebates or special programs/offers too. Because I was able to get the juice box 40 for free by a rebate through Sonoma CleanPower where I live.

I’ve also attached some quick info about installing the level 3 DC charger you were thinking about. And a photo of my install

cheers!

First, chargers don't provide miles per hour, they supply kWs. In warm weather, that roughly is the right mileage. In cold weather, you'll get about 40% less miles per kWh.

Second, all home chargers are AC, not DC.

With the Mach-E, the max it can take is 48amps, which on the Mach-E roughly translates to ~30 - 32 miles of range in an hour.

With the Lightning, if you get the Ford Charge Station Pro, it can supply 80amps to the F-150L, but only 48amps to the Mach-E, which again is the max. On the F-150L, 80amps will give you ~30 miles of range in an hour on the ER model. If you only have 48amps, you'll get about 18 miles of range per hour.

When you get the pro charger that comes with your F150 Lightning have your electrician install that with a 100A breaker, that should be plenty for both vehicles.

Thank you! Mach E on a fast commercial charger can take beyond 48 amps so you mean at a residential site 48 amps max?

If the electrician is asking you about installing DC, you may want to find a new electrician.
Residential seems to come down to zoning also. DC is a common term - some home sites have DC charge capability.

I have an extended range battery 2022 Mach E - so 8 hours for 80-amp - or does the Mach E limit the at home charge on a 240v plug somehow?

Every DC charger currently on the market requires 3 phase power.
Do you have 3 phase at your residence? (not very common....)

Mach E will charge at 48A maximum (~11.5kw)

Yes. The High Voltage Battery Chargers is in your car under the hood. It takes AC power and converts it to DC power to charge the HVB. Those chargers come in different sizes. The one in your car can draw up to 48A on a dual pole circuit.

I don't think that's very likely.

You can buy single phase 240V 25 kW DCFC for about $10,000.

OP, if you get the pro charge station installed it will charge your F150 at 80A and your Mach-E at 48A.
