Coming from a Tesla which has pretty phenomenal Auto Hold+OPD smoothness, so spoiled. BUT twice now in 2 days the car rolled backwards (today almost into the car behind me). Issue seems to be related to the car in uphill position - even slightly - and as you use the one pedal to come to a stop, the auto hold doesn't engage and the car rolls backward. Anyone else seeing this? Seems Ford needs to adjust the system so auto hold engages anytime the car rolls backward in Drive. I have all the latest updates.

My auto hold will not engage until the brake pedal is pressed. It has always been that way, and I kind of like it. For instance, at the car wash, I can just creep onto the conveyor without touching the brake and then go into neutral without auto-hold causing a problem.

Perhaps those hills I'm stopping on are not big enough to overcome the 1PD braking....when do you find you need to use auto hold above and beyond what 1pd already does?

The problem is the calibration tries to bring the car to a complete stop with the motors first, THEN engages the brakes. During the time the car switches from motors to friction brakes the car can roll a small distance on a hill. I think the friction brakes should blend in sooner. I agree it needs more work because it is subpar compared to competitors right now.

It's analogous to rolling backwards on a hill in manual while you switch pedals.

Hey there. Can you send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to take a look into your Mach-E's Auto-Hold issues on my end.

happens to me every time in the Dunkin donuts drive-thru lol, it's got a weird hill then flat part right in front of the cashier window, always roll back so I have to scooch up a tiny bit more.

I have Auto Hold turned off but have experienced the car rolling backwards after coming to a complete stop while using 1PD. Happens when there is a slight incline at the intersection. It is one of the several things that I don't like about 1PD in the MME so I mainly stick to 2PD.

Every once in a while I will turn on 1PD to seen if it has gotten any better since the last time. So far I have always switched it right back to 2PD within 3-5 miles.

Will keep trying...

You do realize these aren’t issues with individuals vehicles? These are designs issues that need to be taken up with engineering. It would be nice to have a direct connection to Ford engineering here. There are a lot of bright/observant people here. I know as an engineer personally customer feedback is always the most welcome; you sometimes minimize or don’t notice things with your own design.

Sounds like it is something others are experiencing so you're probably right. I think it's great, though, that they're checking it out. If it's something you're experiencing and just turn it off waiting for a fix, you're essentially not reporting a problem. More who report, faster it's fixed. :)

Apparently there is a method to report issues via the Sync screen. I haven't verified it myself since I keep forgetting to look for it.
