Fake engine sounds app?

Ok, now I’m on a mission to find a decent fake engine sounds app like this one:



Anyone found one that uses the accelerometer on the iPhone?

Seems like a lot of these came out 10 years ago and kinda suck. Definitely a whole new market for electric cars out there!

I think it would be fun to use to mess with passengers or customize your propulsion sounds.

*wish list- some electric car options- no gear shifts and Jetsons car sound etc.

I put a subwoofer in my frunk and connected it to the input to the backup speaker, and it made a nice rumbling sound instead of that sick static the car normally makes when in Drive.

I didn't use it for long, but I plan to write up how I did it. It was fun playing around with it. And music through the subwoofer in the frunk and the exterior speaker actually sounded pretty good. Outside the car, of course. ?

I'm conflicted. There are too many ICE vehicles around making loud, annoying sounds already. EV's give us a path away from that nonsense.

My goal is for sounds inside the car from a simple app, not external sounds. External would be way more complicated.

If an app like this doesn’t already exist for electric cars, I’m kinda shocked.

Ok, I found one app, but the reviews are terrible and it’s not free. Also isn’t really made for electric cars.

My son has an app on his phone that goes off of GPS. It gives star trek warp engine background sounds with Sulu calling out warp factors every 10 mph (I believe the sounds are pulled from ST:IV - the one with the whales). No sound for "Warp 10" unfortunately .

Maybe I will have to try it through the car speakers!

Lol yup. I went too far down the google rabbit hole and went in a circle.

I guess maybe what I’m looking for doesn’t exist.

I get the fun of it, and wouldn't begrudge anyone the use of an app like this, but I will be all judgey about it.

It simply isn't what you're trying to make it be, and it's a waste of time and effort, along with a contradiction of basic reality. You're either lying to yourself or to others, and that rubs me the wrong way.

I had a Tesla 3 stealth performance- all the capability with none of the badging or looks. And it cost less than a regular Performance, which tells me the market is willing to pay for appearance, not reality. It's like the M- style crap BMW upcharges the he'll out-of, for nothing but a look that anyone with more money than gumption can have. It's a social commentary, and I think it's a symptom of a societal sickness.

I think you missed the point.

The app makes sounds inside the car. I’d only be lying to myself ?

And I want it to make Jetsons sounds. Or star wars, or dragster or whatever. Just a toy to make driving more fun.




if you want sound outside the car, they actually make this! But I think it’s kinda silly and $1000 is ridiculous.

I want to pay $0 to $1 for an app.

I get it, just feeling curmudgeonly and bored with telling kids to get off my lawn. I'd pop for an external Jetsons sound, but only old farts like us would get the joke...
