Can't deal with the bouncy ride anymore after two weeks with the Mach-E. What do I do?

The middle seat should be less bouncy, right? The other four seats in the car are closer to being directly above the wheels.
Wasn’t so much bouncy but she felt every single thing on the road. She is used to driving an BMW X3 but hardly ever sits in the back.

we took mostly secondary roads, and most are not , let’s say, fully paved , lots of ruts, patches etc

edit: I just checked the rear seat as I thought maybe the padding is different in that middle seat. Doesn’t seem to be much different. Maybe you’re right and it’s that all the rear seats suck and my friends sitting in the outer seats didn't complain as they didn’t want me to feel bad since I drove.

I think you feel it even more when you are sitting on the left or right side, closer to a wheel.

My wife also complains bitterly about the harsh ride, especially in the back seats. To me, almost always sitting in a front seat, the suspension feels stiff but does not bother me.

I just realized why my wife complained about the ride more than normal.

not only did she sit in the back seat, she sat in the middle of the back seat.

I don’t think any person would have a good experience in the middle of the rear seat unless you are in an S MB or similar car.
I did hours of driving with my wife in the middle of the back seat over the last couple of weeks, one dog on the left, the other on the right. She did complain about a few rough patches in the road, but generally she was fine. The suspension rebounds strongly when hitting sharp bumps, but is isn't bad. And my wife is very sensitive. If it were bad, I would have heard endless comments. But I didn't.

I wonder why my experience is so different than others.

Maybe since my car is a premium? I would assume you have different shocks and tires and maybe just what we are used to

Yes, the ride is definitely different between the models. Different shocks, springs and tires.

I've said this before, likely on this thread, but I'll say it again: I'm so glad my wife's car is a 1997 Miata. While she acknowledges that my GT's suspension is a bit harsher than her Miata's, she doesn't mind it. ☺

I saw this the other day and thought it described the problem well

I am driving a Select RWD, my wife is also complaining a lot about this bouncy rides I was trying to minimalize it, but to be honest, I am disappointed myself. I was driving a BMW 3 before, it had a stiff suspension but not bouncy as the mach-e.
Last week I was driving my wifes Toyota RAV 4 and must admit, it was a relief. I can understand her much better now.

@Ford Motor Company should offer MagneRide on all models. I don't understand forgoing the extra profitability of offering it, while absorbing customer dissatisfaction by not.

I wonder what would happen if you put the stiffer GT springs on the rear of a Premium, which would result in a softer front suspension compared with the rear? It could reduce the pitch effect the author describes.

2022 GTPE (sold after 2mo - suspension sucks!)

I sold my GT and the last two days I drive a Volvo S60 plug in hybrid and the difference in ride quality is huge.
I did exactly the same - Carvana picked up my GTPE last Thu and I've been driving my wife's XC60 T8.

Night and day.

And for all the people who are saying "it's a sports car, you should expect it to be harsh" - umm, no. It's not that the suspension is stiff - it's that it's under-damped.

The car bounces around like a drunk penguin.

Such a shame, as the rest of the car is so good.

I think if they put the base Lincoln Aviator shocks on the Mach E, everyone would be happy. They weigh about the same.

Lighten what is in the Frunk, put 30 psi in the front tires and 45 psi in the rear. I wonder if that would help?

I think more weight in the front will slow down rebound, instead of less weight. The air pressure thing could help. I tried that for many miles but I never experienced the bouncing people complain about, so I don't think the GT is the right car to test that on.
