2021 Premium RWD/SR here. HVBJB software recall completed via OTA.

Had it charging at home on a level 2 EVSE (Juice Box running at 32A). Noticed in the app that charging was interrupted by a "Charge Fault" error. When I tried unplugging and plugging back in, it did not restart charging. When I started the car, it gave me the "Service Vehicle Soon" error and wrench. The app threw a "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" error. I was able to get the car moving with no issues to pull it out of the garage and into the driveway facing front.

Any way to know whether this the HVBJB issue, some other issue I should worry about, or just a random bug that will go away?

I think that one's a bug. Unplug, close the door, come back in 5-10 minutes after the car is asleep, and it should be back to normal. If the error is still there after the car has been asleep for a while then it's something more serious.

Just tested it (it's been sitting two hours so plenty of time to fall asleep). Started up ok without SVS error. But app still has the "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" vehicle alert.

Go by what is shown on the instrument cluster, the app is delayed and might not clear right away. Probably fine now.

Interesting. Same exact thing happened to me yesterday while L2 charging in my garage with the mobile charger. Car is fine now. Wrench disappeared at the next restart.

Same thing happened to me a week ago. After a couple of hours sitting unplugged all was back to normal.

Took it for a drive today without issue. SVS and wrench did not reappear. Did not feel any reduced power, though I was going 45 mph on local roads, so not sure if I'd feel it if it were the case. Charging now without any issues (yet). The "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" stayed in the app for about 24 hours and only cleared itself after the drive when I was charging.

Hoping this was an odd innocuous bug. Interesting that this happened to a few others recently since I it didn't seem common at all from searching the forum. Maybe the bug got introduced by a recent OTA?

Did you see the red/orange rings on the indicator next to the plug when the charge fault popped up?

Coincidentally, I unplugged my Grizzl-E (from the wall) to test the 14-50 plug on my Ford Mobile Charger the other day, and when I plugged my Grizzl-E back in, it suddenly refused to charge. No fault, just white charging indicators, then it would turn off, and FordPass said 'Charging Paused'. I turn the car on, and I get the same set of SVS/Powertrain Malfunction error messages, but those have since cleared and not recurred. Setting the Grizzl-E to 32A appears to be a workaround too and it charges fine again -- at some point, I'll get around to speaking with their customer service...

No red or orange ring. Though I checked in it some time after the charge fault error occurred, so for all I know the red ring may have been there previously.

Was the car still plugged in when you rebooted the charger?

Nope - always unplugged the car first before mucking around with the chargers

That's quite odd for a Grizzl-e. Is it a second gen or first?

It only has three DIP switches to limit current (instead of 4) so I think it's a first gen?

I think it is related to the new software and is not unique to the Mach E.

After I came home from an event today in my Lightning, I started it charging and it shut off -- Charge Fault. I went out, checked the truck and found a red charging ring. Charger worked fine on the Mach E. Tried again on the Lightning, red ring. I tried to turn the Lightning on to cycle things and was greeted with Stop Now Safely and it wouldn't start (only went into Full Accessory). I let the truck sit about 10 minutes and it would start but still wouldn't charge. I turned off the charging schedule and charging started fine. I'm still using my ClipperCreek dumb charger, so the error is definitely on the truck's end.

Yes, that's first gen. They will work with you.
