TLDR; found one with min ADM, started 3hr drive to dealer only for it to be sold while on my way.

So, I’ve been looking for a few months for a MME Premium AWD ER battery. Called every major dealer on the West coast and finally got a cancelled order to jump on after agreeing to $10k ADM, figuring it “locks me in” for an order (this was also during 2022 sale freeze and before 2023 banks opened up) coming in while I continue to look.

Now fast forward 2.5 months and the one I have “ordered” has been delayed twice on delivery (sitting in KS for almost two months now) so I’m still calling around to numerous dealers trying to a) find one and b) a lower ADM - next to no dealers with MSRP from what I’ve found.

Today got the call there was a Grabber Blue (my fav color I think - love pics but never seen one in person) MME premium AWD, but it only has SR battery. However, only asking $5k over MSRP. Dealer is 3hrs away and they won’t take deposit / hold it, it’s first come first serve.

so I contemplate it for a few mins, really debating if the SR battery is worth taking or not. Ultimately, this car is going to be a DD on a 50 mi round trip/day commute and I think I can live with the SR battery. So I get my dad to come over and confirm with dealer it’s still available and I’m on my way. 40 mins into drive I get the call that someone Is there starting paperwork….another one got away.

So back to waiting on this $10k ADM model that was supposed to be here
15 days ago. But who’s counting.

I have a std range Premium and getting more range than advertised. At 80% charge showing on average 208 mi, should be 184 miles at 80%. Normal driving, little freeway time., fairly level terrain. Good luck on your selection. One incredible vehicle!

Yeah just having a pity party. Really thought I’d get one today, and REALLY want one of these cars.

Hey, thanks for that feedback! If another SR comes available I think I’ll more confidently jump on it. I already have two ICE vehicles (diesel truck for pulling my 5th wheel and 3 row SUV for kid hauling) so the MME is just a fun commuter for me so prob don’t “need” the ER battery but seemed worth adding plus resale.

Same exact thing happened to me with a volvo xc60 last year. Dealer an hour away had the exact trim and options I was looking for. Told them to hold it until I got there...lo and behold they sold it 2 mins before I got there.

The bright side of that is I got my mach-e as a result of that snafu and I wound up loving it. So maybe you'll get lucky and find a different car you really love. Good luck!

I had about a 2 month delay between the Argentine KS lot and arrival at the dealer. It turned out Ford doesn't always seem to have the current actual location.

What broke things loose for me was asking Ford Customer Service to have a manager call me back. When he called he said it was already at the railroad yard in Phoenix.

A couple of weeks later I called and talked to another, deeper person in the Ford organization and found out the dealer already had it but hadn't called me.

I called the dealership and got it home a couple of days later.

Shake the tree! My order was put in on March 2. The car was home by September 21 and is a basic Select model.

yeah I’ve been working with Ford chat and reaching out to my dealer (who has limited response) beyond that who would you recommend calling?

Ford Customer Relations: (800) 392-3673

Get as much info as you can from them. Ask for a manager if things don't make sense.

In my case BNSF told me the rail car was scheduled to be in Phoenix on Monday morning. A week after the Phoenix move date I was hearing the Mach-e was still in Kansas from Ford C R. The manager called me back and said it was already in Phoenix.

A similar scenario played out on the move from Phoenix to the dealership.

P.S. The railroads generally don't give out that kind of information. I was lucky to get it.

Well the plot thickens....

I just got a call from the dealership I secured the cancelled customer order on a few months ago, giving them a $1k deposit and waiting on the car to be delivered. Apparently it is a customer order that was never available. They are refunding me my $1k, (which of course they should and I'm thinking they owe me some interest too) but now I have no car coming at all.

Maybe you will have good karma! I had a similar experience when I was bronco shopping, the perfect one popped up 2hrs away in maine, I quickly buckled my kids into the car and set out on the highway, the dealer called 30min later and I lost it...but 2 weeks later I drove away in my perfect MME, so I did better in the end.

Someone probably outbid you. Don’t believe a word the dealership says. i get so annoyed when these sales people expect us to believe their lies.

I do believe in karma, and hoping the best return for your patience. What dealership was this? leave A complaint to the dealership ceo and also Ford. I can see why people are worried about ordering any car from Ford. You’d think Ford would handle this with some class.
